Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I've given up

After years of giving everything at Wells Fargo, I’m completely worn out. I’m coasting through the days, just waiting for someone to finally let me go. Being told it’s over would feel like a weight off my shoulders. I’ve lost all drive and the thought of leaving is oddly comforting.

@OP
I couldn’t take it any longer and left the company with 31 YOS. It was the best decision for my situation. Then three months later, the employee who replaced me along with my manager received their notices. Had I known...would I have waited? Not sure...

No matter what responses or comments are posted, you have to do what is best for you. Just remember your mental health is worth more than a severance package.

Still no blanket voluntary separation offer, with a year's compensation. WF still cares about the money and you are still wrong 😙

Just roll with the punches..do your job, don’t consume yourself with work.

"this megacorp who has no idea who I am and does not care about this insignificant years salary they will pay me!”

Really? Well since they don't care, I expect a voluntary buyout offer to all employees at one year of compensation.

Until that day, they DO care and you are wrong again. How long do you think it'll be until you are vindicated?

So let me simplify it further.

WF wants us to quit. Easy for them an no severance. So if i quit, I am positively reinforcing cr-ppy behavior. Like giving in to a child that's throwing a tantrum.

Nope, I'm not doing that. I'll stay as long as possible as a disengaged and oppositional worker.

I'll do just enough to stay below the radar, while doing what I can to waste resources, withhold key information and stonewall progress in other areas.

I hope this clarifies my stance, as I'll be unable to further help with your confusion.

Maybe you can poorly mimic some sort of accent again. That was super funny or something. I guess.

@bd I’m not saying you’re wrong (or those that are hanging on for this reason are either) but it just doesn’t make any sense do it IF you value yourself at all.

The monetary value is clear, but that assumes the individuals mental health has no value. I will admit I do not know the entire WF workforce but of those I do (along with the posters that seems to be prevalent here) who are holding out for this Golden Ticket are 100% not happy. To the point of being bitter and jaded at all times. That kind of existence does not magically stop at some threshold, it always follows people into their personal life and many times to their actual physical health.

So tell me, what is the cost comparison of years of bad attitude , stress, anger, etc etc vs just moving on on your own terms and “losing” this vaporware benefit that never existed until recently?

“It’s muh retirement! I uh urned that munny! I’m gunna stick it to this megacorp who has no idea who I am and does not care about this insignificant years salary they will pay me!”

Makes total sense to me :-/

Because they don't get what they want. Downsized too many of my friends. I could retire, but I'll wait for that 14 months of pay and benes. FHY.

I believe Tuesday is my day. I did not play the politics-optics game. Apparently, We don't move at OC plus whatever speed. Nothing is good enough anymore. Blame others not themselves. Hopefully the reign of te---r is soon over. Can me. I would laugh and thank them. Like I said, life’s ills will catch up with you one way or another.

A lot of these people are at 25+ years of service and will qualify for 12 months of severance. It becomes financially beneficial to wait it out at that point. 60 day notice + full severance is 14 months of full pay and benefits with the ability to get a new job after the notice period, essentially making double pay for 12 months. If you're close to retirement, it means earlier retirement.

Just curious. Does HR give you an exit interview? If they don’t they should “if they really wanted to know what HR nighmares are lucking” but curious if you can provide feedback on your way out

And yes. You have stated my sentiment exactly. However it is very hard to exist with that mindset very long because it is very depressing to be sidelined unceramoniously
