August Layoffs- Be Ready

We are in for another round of layoffs for August.
The company has been slowing spreading them out so they don’t have to legally inform shareholder and follow the WARN act.
They are also making a mandatory Return to Office FULL TIME for 5 days a week. Anyone who doesn’t comply will be fired without severance package.
The next wave I’m also hearing, is those that don’t live near an office will eventually be told they have to relocate to a state/ location where an office is or they will be fired/ let go. It’s a way for them to save more money not having to pay out for severance packages.
With the recent departure of Chris W, it’s only a matter of time the new Customer Experience Officer / Sales Officer Chance replaces every single sales manager with the Street and Fusion leadership.
There are rumors going around that all sales positions will lose benefits and go to 1099 commission only.

You have been warned.

@1z2 they are going to keep the layoffs coming. I think they are trying to make it so unbearable that people quit so they don’t pay out severance. I heard there was an email that came out to go over layoffs and announce that the VP of field was fired and it was talking about how exciting the new org changes are. Failed to talk about how they are ruining people’s lives.

@1ya Sunrun should be ashamed of themselves...the layoff selection the last round made no sense. In the region where I am, they kept the lay preforming staff and got rid of the quality ones. Karma.

@z3 Mary Powell is just a puppet.

All the former sales bros that have no experience in their currently elevated and protected roles are the ones making all the horrible decisions that reduce morale and productivity amongst their teams. The amount of money they waste on bullsh-t is where money is hemorrhaging, not people working remote. Either Mary Powell is complicit, blind, or being played.

Just got word from a return to office manager meeting they will be opening up a NYC office in manhattan. What a joke. Sunrun laying off a massive amount of people and then end up opening an office for NO REASON in the most expensive places in the country? Don’t forget crime and office violence has been going significantly up.

@OP hearing some similar news as well about return to office plan. Sunrun is a clean energy company but now they want to increase the amount of fuels and carbon emissions in order for people to sit in an office all day. Makes zero sense. Sales numbers are way down and you are probably right they will do another sla-ghter.
Funny how the new VP of customer care is a little tiny sales bro. What experience does he even have? Again, the company is making decisions that protect the 1% and eff over everyone else who makes the company run.
