Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Why we have so many incompetent SR leaders

Why we have so many incompetent and unqualified people in Sr leadership role in Technology ? Cloud program is a joke with PC , AC etc.. they just got surrounded or shielded by people who should not be in the employment. Is it same everywhere ?

Always start at the top when looking at poorly operational companies. What a mess. Bring back Richard Davis. Look at the stock price since he left

@n8 there were literally never any goals for diversity quotas get real.

I literally laid off because I had to, people who happen to fit your so-called diversity quota so according to your theory management and HR would have come down on me and said that I need to pick different people like white men.

But leadership and management and HR and dei never said a thing. I picked the people to be laid off because again I had to pick a certain number and I paid people who in this case were behind on skills.

At no point did HR or leadership come to me and say I had to pick different because of some so-called quota being ruined.

You need either offer some proof or just stfu about your nonsense conspiracy theories about quotas

Simple answer is the basic Corporate life:
"People are promoted to their level of incompetence."

@n8 I implore you, go touch some grass. Read a book. Stop taking all your opinions from podcast hosts with micro-peni- I mean, microphones and start forming your own. Maybe talk to someone other than your mom today. Baby steps. I believe in you!!

Truly astonishing that DEI hasn’t made its grand entrance in this little blame game, considering there are actual quotas and performance bonuses for SVPs who tick enough diversity boxes, plus the public flogging if you fall short. Meanwhile, the CRO is basically a walking case study in “what happens when your risk radar is tuned to HR metrics instead of actual technology,” because every single problem (and looming disaster) is tech-related, and they couldn’t debug a toaster.

Race/country based hiring is happening openly in the bank. Leb hires another, Brit hires another, Pak hires another and so on. It’s not skills and competence that gets you to the leadership role here. No leadership promotion is announced to the whole enterprise. HR plays blind and only called to give fat packages for these people when they leave.
No one realizes until complete debacle as the MBRs are all green. Then when $ are burnt by consulting, vendors and misfit hires they start the mass layoff monthly keeping the # under 2 digits. So find your countrymen and hold tight.

Oh puh-lease ... as if just by not being Indian all problems will go away. This is a mess created by Andy and a bunch of id--ts (white, black, brown) who directly reported to him. Don't make this a race issue. It is a competency issue.

It is a cultural problem that permeates every aspect of the company and it's affiliated entities, we love to check boxes at all levels rather than instal and develop competent, capable and experienced leadership, leadership which the bank is solely lacking, as evidenced by the ongoing mediocre financial performance causing the trade press and analysts to wonder what is wrong at U.S. Bank.

After over a decade working between the technology and digital areas, I am shocked at the level of incompetence of Sr. technology leaders. It seems most of them are former contractors and H1B visa holders that somehow have insulated themselves with others and continue to climb the corporate ladder, creating an empire of people that look/sound/act the same.

I also find that many Sr. Leaders from India talk to women like they are their daughters going through a rebellious phase in college. Condescending, rude, and demeaning. I’ve also seen many women burned for speaking up or standing up for themselves and their career.

There is nothing more defeating than to watch them somehow get promoted while competent, kind and level headed people are overlooked and lost in the shuffle. It also doesn’t look good for Gunjan that this has been going on for a decade (potentially longer?) with no recourse.

The leadership is mostly atrocious. I’ve had so many managers here I’ve lost count, but I can tell you that the majority of them lacked the critical skills needed to be deemed a great people leader, and they were mostly concerned with managing upwards for their own survival. Nice enough people to grab a beer with. Terrible people managers. It is widespread through the organization.
