CPG Outsource Fiasco

So the plan is to outsource all of CPG to three main providers and you must be offered a similar role. Some folks were displaced as part of this, but I was one of the “lucky” ones picked to go to CBRE. Part of the job requirement though for me to continue doing my same job is to have a real estate license which many of us don’t have. Is that really a similar job if you have to go out and get a special license now?

Depending on where you’re at getting a license is extremely difficult. New York, California and Texas are the hardest.

I got displaced after pumping my soul into the job for a few years. Didn’t think I would ever be in this position. I can’t go into detail because it’ll reveal who I am but the ask of me is insane.

And agreed the third party groups will only la der to numbers.

@c4 stay at home moms get bored and get a real estate license. So, I guess the requirements are if you watch enough HGTV.

@OPs issue boils down to being licensed/certified to work in a field vs just doing “whatever”. Welcome to the world not being under the rock you were previously living?

Financial folks have the Series tests, Technology has tons of different Certifications, most properties/building types that I know have Engineering degrees or various licenses.

If anything you should be thankful. Now you’ll get a free license because if it’s required CBRE will have to pay for it. I’m assuming when you say “real estate license” you actually mean Real Estate Sales Agent License (making you what is generally referred to as a Realtor) where CBRE will be the Broker you are licensed under but if you’re required to do the entire Broker side even better. Either way, while becoming a “Licensed Realtor” may not mean much, it has tangible value.

Have you met the average real estate agent?

I, for one, am glad CPG is gone. Contractors are more easily ignored and less draconian about pushing corporate bs. The internal clowns were always pushing some nonsense and gleefully shut buildings down for years to make it look like they were "adding value".

@OP what's the problem? You kept your job and you got out of WF. did you want severance?

job requirements change all the time.

I don't think a real estate license is that hard to obtain. plenty of instances over the years where we sell a business to another company and the employees go with it.

@aa OP is probably upset that they weren't offered severance. Instead, they are offered a comparable job.

OP, I wouldn't call needing a real estate license to work in real estate a material change in job responsibilities. You are free to reach out to an attorney. Nobody can do anything for you even if they do agree with you

100 % cluserfu*k like all the other "cost cutting jack up the stock price short team offshore everything make great changes that will result in the bank folding and disappearing in 5 years or less, work in one of these 5 or 10 locations or you don't meet our vision" BS that's happened since chainsaw Chucky took the helm.

Looking for WF to do anything resembling something ethical at this point is ridiculous.

If you played golf with some of these clowns getting kickbacks for bringing in their friends then maybe you'll be ok. If not, do the needful for yourself and go somewhere else, WF and corporate America is a burning, sinking, tu*d at this point. May as well go to the least sensory offensive one.

Not to be a je-k about it, but be satisfied (if not happy) that you got a job vs. having to find a new one in corp. real estate.

I have a feeling this will not go well. the outsourced vendors will worry about profit/billing/etc. My building in chandler is already a mess. Lots of construction/restack and the bathrooms are garbage.
