Today Intel faces overwhelming competition in silicon development, manufacturing, design, test, EDA. You name it in almost every area needed for success Intel is at best equal and in most places have fundamental technology or structural issues to fix or catch up that will take tons of money, real domain knowledge and years of time. But the competition is hungry, well or better funded with significant advantages.
Intel has only the short time advantage of geo politics. That will soon like many political things disappear. Where they have a bigger issue and will fail is talent!
