Your new employer will no doubt be familiar with what life is like at L3harris. They won't hold it against you if you left without notice. Odds are your new supervisor was probably laid off or quit the same company.
Everybody knows about L3Harris. Any job applicant coming from there won't be questioned about whether they gave notice or not. They will understand. They will be expecting you.
If you don't have a start date for another company yet, I say take some vacation. Either that or build vacation into your time at L3 before you leave and start your other role. It will definitely rub some people the wrong way, but I mean those people are part of why you're leaving in the first place, right?
When I've left, I wrote a two week notice email of my departure and also printed it out. I told my supervisor face to face that I was leaving and handed them the resignation letter. After that meeting, I then sent the email so there was digital proof of my notice as well.
How to ghost a job in 5 easy steps:
#1. Take all of your possessions home.
#2. Use all of your time off.
#3. Clean your computer of personal files.
#4. Say "have a nice weekend" on a Friday like always.
#5. Begin your new life Monday and drop your L3Harris I.D. in a mailbox on the way to your new job.
The company would give you no notice if they were laying you off. Don't bother writing a resignation letter. No one will read it anyway.
Tell your supervisor. They will likely need you to follow it up with an email. It all goes from there.
@OP take 1 month / 4 weeks of "unlimited" vacation and then turn in your badge on your first day back.
