OMG, attended the town hall today, what a joke. Stankey is an id--t! The poor guy was unfocused, everyone that I talked to after the call had the same opinion. I wonder if he is sick, possibly losing his mind? Never saw a CEO waste time and money like that!

Who cares, not wasting my time on it. Turn it on and let it run while I do laundry or take a nap. It won’t be anything important I’m sure, and then I can check here later in the day to read about the nonsense from all you who are going to watch ;-)

"Perhaps it's news about the jo--t venture T is looking to do related to fiber rollout:"

They will do this as soon as they're done cleaning all customers rotary phone dials. This is how T thinks.....

I still believe that T will not reduce head count as much as people on this site think will occur. of course there will be layoffs, but I believe it will only be pick and choose in small pockets that will be affected. I've been around for a very long time and have never seen a tsunami layoff like everyone is stressed out over. Relax, people, most of us will get thru this! You'll be alright!

Stankey and Santone have decided to enhance the severance package at at&t. They plan to add a subscription to the jelly of the month club effective 01/01/2023. They want to help soften the blow that many employees are expected to experience. Stankey and Santone have been overjoyed and have been overheard parroting "It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year long". God love 'em!

Bad news, retirements, negative things like re-orgs and layoffs are never the focus of exec-level town halls.

The painful part will be the corporate babble of whatever the repositioning is. It’ll probably be a new lame tagline like mobilizing your world or rethink possible.

If the exec leadership thinks that customers (or most employees) will change their mind about AT&T because of a few new catchy words, they’re stupidly negligent.

Stop slamming insurance plans and next at the wireless stores for starters. It’s theft.

I'm sure it will be "simplify the business" That seems to be the going theme. They simplified the choice out of everything (including benefits) so nobody gets what they want. It's the AT&T way.

He will be speaking about ongoing and upcoming firings (1st qtr.) for the employee base. All groups will be impacted, even groups previouslyrics thought safe like mobility RAN.

He wI'll not get into specifics; however, be assured cuts are happening and will happen. These are stealth reorganization and cuts. Nothe layoffs as there is no intention to bring anyone back.

Sambar has already stated these facts and others in leadership have said similar things.

Don't be fooled look at what other companies are doing in response to inflation and employee, material and service cost. AT&T is cutting cost to keep up with Wall Street expectations.

Good luck to all the next few quarters will be difficult.

"As we narrow our focus and embrace this new age of connectivity, we have a unique opportunity to reposition AT&T. And we're taking it."

This is not the usual, festive fourth quarter, "if you don't like it you should leave" Holiday message from Stank of the last couple years.

Sounds big. Maybe we're finally selling off the parts of the business that drag the rest of us down (you know who you are). Can't imagine to who though.

Or maybe (gulp) someone is buying US??? Elon?

He’s resigning? One can hope.

Likely it’ll be something like we had a good year, but not good enough. Bonus is iffy at best. Be thankful for anything you might get. He and his execs will get full bonus, you won’t though. Also you should be kissing his ring for your job and be thankful when he kicks you in the rear.

RE: perception - We need a Customer Service dept based in the US. Back decades ago in BellSouth, Customer Service Reps helped you with billing issues or questions. Their intent was pure bc they weren’t trying to sell you anything. If you mentioned you wanted to buy something, they transferred you to the Sales Dept, who were seasoned product experts, not a constant churn of lying new hires desperate to pad your account with services to keep their job.

Yes, he hinted about it in a recent meeting. It is about changing the perception of ATT. The example he cited was if you ask 10 people what come to mind when you say ATT they want 80% to have the same response - for example “great connectivity provider”

You just know that anything coming from Stankey is going to be bad. Name one positive thing Stankey has been associated with. I can't think of one thing. The guy is a real loser, when will the BOD wake up? Stankey still has a few bootlickers, but most know him for what he is, an egotistical stuffed shirt.
