Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

PENSION INTEREST

Any idea what is going on with that? They said up to 30% drop in our pensions.

Heard this is the reason Paul is leaving (the rumor mill).

Left the T from management, pension fully intact best move I have made while at the T.

Just left T last week and running with my lump sum in tact! It's still not too late but time is running out. Depending on how your pension is set up, you either have November 30th as your final work day so your commencement date can be 12/1, or, you have until 12/30/22 to make 12/31/22 your commencement date. But you better act quickly because most will lose 30%+ off your pension over night (12/31 - 1/1). Most will be shocked at what they will lose.
I'm so happy to have left after 24 years!

Employees who made AT&T their entire career should also have significant personal savings accounts and investment portfolios.

Rumor? 31 individuals under my AVP are leaving the busines at the end of this month due to rising interest rates and the lump sum.

Lump sums get hammered by high interest rates.
Monthly disbursements get hammered by low interest rates and oh yeah ATT management last yeasr when they lowered monthly disbursements 40%

Glad I retired last year and took the lump sum. Even if the stock market brought it down 10% due to my financial advisor who saved me a lot.

If you're just looking into this now, probably too late for you.

Not all pensions are affected. There are many different pensions. You need to do some homework and check your own SPD. There are some great FB AT&T groups that can provide you some guidance if you're without a clue. Which it seems like you are.

Paul is the guy in charge of the pension. It's gonna be crazy when he leaves.

The 30% pension reduction pertains only to the lump sum if applicable. On a side note who the #$ll is Paul?
