Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What Happened to the OEMS? The MSC? How are we still ISO Certified?

I was one of the lucky people to join Chevron during the layoffs 2 years ago. I worked for one of the certification company's Bureau Veritas in a prior job as an auditor and I can tell you, Chevron would not pass today. From what I can tell, the senior leaders have no engagement with the field, OEMS seems to have become something that is just administrative and the MSC is just a joke.

We need to put this back on track people! I did raise this issue in a meeting and was told we would take it offline. We never talked about it offline. I continue highlighting this topic but no one seems to want to talk about it. Am I walking into a danger zone? I am posting here as no one wants to talk about this with me internally. We are so dysfunctional and we are going to invalidate our ISO Certification if we don't get back on track.

Some boomers still here, making bank, eating cake and loving life. Hope the rest of you make it here as long and have it as good as I have.

Bureau Veritas and their ilk are nothing special anymore, any company can buy their certification, integrity, value are all out the window, just look at their client list. Developing countries sport those same certs just like anyone else. It’s simply business.

OEMS has kind of fallen off. Management realized all the safety focus was getting in the way of the real work and not adding value.
