Got the word today based on notes from latest OC meeting. Chuck giving the firm through summer then the mandate kicks in for 8 hours 3x a week. Will be sold as you get a summer of flexibility for your kids but come fall, it’s time to be back 8 hours. Legal sit odds and diligence done. Expect comm in June.

not happening. it's not technologically feasible to monitor, and it opens up all sorts of legal/regulatory issues for exempt workers who are not paid by number of hours.
Don’t log onto teams. Problem solved. There is no policy that says you have to log in, I checked the everywhere.
Teams doesn’t monitor anything but what teams does. Look it up. That would be a massive security issues if it did.
But does 4 hours pto count? Hit 10 calender years this year so including 28 days of pto, 2 personal holidays and 2 days of community service can easily not show up 8 hours 3 days a week from September to end of year and get close to bonus time in February...
Don't know what 'my job doesn't rely on Teams' means, but Teams monitors your general PC activity. It's not just about meetings, calls and chat logs.
Coming in 4 weeks - this same post - if the OP hasn’t been laid off yet
they can monitor my teams all they want, my job doesn't rely on teams.
The fearmongering is strong with @c9
Was already told you had to be there 8 hrs for IT 3x a week and they monitor your swipes along with your Teams activity. If you show inactive for X amount of time you get flagged and have to explain why it showed no activity. They are using MS compliance app to monitor usage of MS products and time on them. Everyone has teams unfortunately.
It's stupid and will cause a few people to quit, so yeah, HY will probably try it. FHY. FRTO. F Shart.
Doesn’t leave much time to d-idle the bozack
Let's be real, it's actually 10 hours a day
OP sitting back hoping someone is panicking or reacts. Classic troll generating drama to entertain himself.
It’s confirmed.
Troll. Troll. Troll.
Wow- they really measure what matters. We have procedures that make no sense and information that is nearly impossible to find. But hey, let’s spend time building out tools to track of people are at their desks for 8 hours instead of 8.2 or 7.9.
@a6 Puh-lease. They've been threatening me with RTO ever since Chuck arrived. Why would they keep me around for 6 years to avoid severance?
This isn't to get people to quit, it's about control.
Our group was informed of that requirement several months ago; management has a dashboard that they use to track their employees, using IP address and badge swipes.
I don't doubt it. Next will be 5 days, 8 hours. No more wfh. They want you to quit so they don't have to pay you severance and they can outsource your job. Especially in IT.
lol, yeah right. Is that you, CNN?
