Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Going from P4 to P3

I am burnt out at my P4 level and want a demotion, as it is affecting my health and my managers don't care. I was wondering if anyone would share their experience taking a demotion to a lower level. How does it work exactly? My current salary at the P4 level is in the P3 salary range

RP- How long have you been a P4? I am in the same boat. My current P4 position will be the end of me. I has been zapping me of all creativity and willingness to do anything outside of work.

@jm+1jt98czhp let me clear here. Current performance system ( appraisal) is positioned to locate people like you . They are pushing manager's to identify the week/ under performer and finding an excuse to jump to low level. They don't want to pay severance. So you get frustrated and leave or get fired. Going from P4 to P3 does not shield you from them . They don't want people in US for P2 , P3 roles and it is very clear from their recent activities. You can be lucky if everything work in your favor but it will for few months or a year till your next appraisal.

I’ve heard of a person who went from back office mgr level to teller. Pay was cut but this was allowed as they posted for it.

This is a company that could care less about its employees. I worked long hours, unappreciated because the OT became a factor yet the workload never decreased .had to work with managers out of state that you've never met. Trained employees from overseas so they took my job and for me to get laid off. Dealing with uncontrollable Sales teams was verbally abusive. Had started to affect my health. You go find another job.

Don't do it. I did it and ended up doing the same work with less money. It is not worth it. Wellsfargo job assignments are not based on Job description. Frequent layoffs and team size reduction is increasing pressure. Wellsfargo job description between P3 to P5 are pretty vague and prepared by folks came from other companies (JPM,BOFA ...)

you would have to apply for a lower level position.

Your current position cant be downgraded just because you want to have less responsibility - the position is the position.

I knew a few managers that wanted out and they had to post out & interview for lower positions.

In my area of Control they seem to treat everyone the same - endless paperwork and miserable processes. The only difference is that they may try to hold higher levels to subjective things like being more "strategic". The BCM model 3.0 is a jack of all trades, master of none and everyone is miserable. That is just control org though. Enjoy the higher pay and find something else.

It’s not allowed per HR policy. I’ve known more than a couple people who wanted to go down a level & HR said it’s not allowed.
