Thread regarding United Healthcare layoffs

Sit back and watch the show

Here’s to hoping all the providers see these messages and know why they will never get their issues solved. It took a staff of over 300 to resolve problems. Now only 80 are left to do the work left behind.

Sending positive thoughts and warm vibes to everyone this week. It's hard to predict what life will bring our way, but let's support each other through the daily stresses and fears we all face. You're not alone in this.

Regarding the response that UHG should have adopted the Optum model; the company I originally worked for as an APC was acquired by Optum 2 years ago and they've been slowing chipping away at us since. Initially we were informed that we were making below industry standard and that our salaries were going to be increased. After a quarter or 2 and 3 passing with no increase the topic was brought up in meetings and we were told the subject would be brought up to the "higher ups". Basically we were continuously ghosted. Now after multiple town meetings and last minute Q and A sessions where the chat features are turned off interestingly so no one can ask questions we're being told we could be "realigned" to a new position by the right hand while the left hand is telling some of us we will continue to perform our current duties. It's like a toxic relationship.

They can't adopt Optum model when they have an upper Senior management team that doesn't understand the in's and out's of provider relations

That’s why I do my job slower. I’m not letting them take advantage.

They don't care about our providers. They proved that when they did this the way they did

I have been an Advocate for many years with very important providers. I was in the middle of a lot of very important issues for them and was told to log out. What a way to go!

Sc--w them. Plan on either going to another plan or working for myself. I hope providers continue leaving UHCs network in droves and their stock continues to tank.

They should’ve adopted the Optum model. That Team is trained, they stay lean, they have great relationships with the health plans, they seem to understand operations, and they managed to get claims away from provider relations, so that the provider relations team could actually do their job.

Oh, im definitely sitting back to watch this.
United is its own worst enemy. Provider 'Experience' was a thing from the past. Whoever thought 80 advocates can handle 300 plus people's core accounts, must be smoking some good stuff. We tried getting away from claims countless amounts of times and it never worked. The flip flopping within Provider Relations has been astounding. They don't need a numbers person( been there, done that) they need someone with the extensive provider relations background to run that department efficiently improving the provider Experience not leaving them high and dry . All the work these advocates did for these accounts is gone. No hand off, no paper trails, no trackers, nothing. Basically, just leaving these accounts to start from scratch with the folks left standing. This is definitely going to be interesting.
