Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Morale has hit a new low

The only time anyone cracks a smile is when they’re trashing the company or dreaming about unionizing.

After working there for 2 decades, with all positive PMPs and solid work ethics not to mention SME they laid my husband off after transferring him to a new business unit where they told him he needs to make a commitment for 3 years before he will be able to post out only to lay him off 1 year later. Where is chevrons commitment to their employees? They expect commitment from their employees but don’t stand by the same ask of their employees. Also, he was a blue badge, IYKYK….. that’s Legacy Chevron… and they chose to keep the employees who came with the buyout of other oil companies…. They don’t want doers or people with the right skill and experience for the job, they want cheap labor and unloyal employees. Those “buyout” employees, hate working for Chevron but that’s who they decided to keep!! Human energy my &$%

I've never dreamt about being in a high rent corrupt lying cheating marxism based union ever in my career. Let us know if that's happening, I'll find another job ASAP.

Coworkers are dragging tail on everything. It’s annoying.

I agree the morale is low and as the positions dwindle throughout the year, the morale will continue to decline. When the replacement workers are onboarded they will not have much cross training to bring them up to speed. Chevron ELT made the decision to handle the staffing this way and they will experience the ramifications of their decisions.

Probably just need some potions from the shop or maybe a magic with the right buffs.

Don't worry bout morale. Just make sure every Chevron decision you make going forward is in your best interest. Take care of #1. If you win every day, you will be very happy as the life raft leaves the Titanic.

How will a negative attitude help? Chevron has been great for most - a great pension, work-life balance and all and for many it has been a good run.

I'd focus on the next journey and do my best to be ready for that....

I know things are bad, but we have a good old time on our floor. Make it fun and hang out with the optimists even though we also lower loop. Bad for your health bro

I think we need to reinstitute the floor stretch breaks we used to have back in the day.

Those sound like good reasons to smile as Chevron has been such a di-k to their employees.
