Say you’re a program manager for D&I in a BU, not technical in the slightest but you sit in meetings and chime in here and there. Been at Chevron for a while. Would i be cooked? Can’t see offshored folks doing what i do

You are extremely cooked. Zero skills lmao
We keep hoping that the managers who are just hanging around meeting with each other to boost each other’s egos are eliminated but don’t count on it. There are too many who are connected. With an average of 15-20% we’re not seeing those numbers as the org is rolled out. That means the eliminations will be higher at the bottom. Consultants know who’s paying them.
MCBU PMs are useless. Not sure what they do all day.
Cooked beyond belief hahahah
Soooo… what do you DO here?
How is this a question? Yes, dum--ss, you are COOOOOOKED
“Collaborate to amplify value”.
FML
lmao yeah obviously… you’re a useless employee
Product line managers and above are added roles that Chevron shoved in. Many companies don’t have these roles. There’s so much overlap between a PO and PLM it makes them redundant. Especially the ones who are all talk and not contributing. Their whole role is alignment. If you get rid of all the mid level management across the enterprise you don’t have to worry about aligning any more and teams will be happy they don’t have to report separate status 6 times a week.
@ak+1 not yet at least … maybe in 2026
Yes especially if nontechnical
Any fluff role, yes. You are indeed 'cooked'.
If ur like the useless mid-et in GOM or the dolts in ABU then ya lmao
@aj1 we’ve gotten rid of three SMs in a row because they don’t help us pull oil out of the ground they sit there and ask for blockers they can help with. Pretty sure they can’t help with wells that don’t produce enough or what to do with water. The only reason we keep getting one is so our RTE can justify a paycheck
You are safe dude, the AEOI got rid of everyone that had marketable skills, so we will need people to chime in during meetings with inane bullsh-t.
My team has self scrummed for 2 years and we don’t measure any velocity or whatever BS other teams do. And we aren’t being shipped to India or Manila or BA.
@ah+1 "SMs are even less useful." Then go tell your PO to get rid of the SM so you can self-scrum, because that's what you're going to be doing soon anyway.
@ag Agile practitioners are a joke. Everyone that contributes work laughs at those people they live in an ADO board with metrics nobody cares about. SMs are even less useful.
- Agile isn't going anymore so f---k all you haters. You are the same a-holes who pi---d and moaned about CHPDIP and would complain about any type of methodology. If you hate it so much then EOI your -ss out.
- Everyone will have to reapply for a smaller pool of jobs.
You’re irreplaceable
BU program managers are not only useless, they’re the most arrogant IT employees around
Product Managers are just taking up space. They don’t lead a team, shoot the breeze and talk big while everyone else around them does the work. they’re last to work and first to end their day. Not sure if op is really a product manager because PMs never admit how useless they are.
Don’t forget the digital analysts. We have three of them on our team they sit in meetings and say nothing except OE moments about MS Office tricks.
only ppl more worthless would be scrum master , rte, and po .... so ya ur cooked dude.
