Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aero split- Elliot

Aero CEO is desperate to save face.
Insinuating that the Elliot group had zero input on the decision process to split Aero from Honeywell proper.
The CEO is also quick to say, “Honeywell Aerospace Technology has a quarter of the overall corporation, and yet almost half the profit.”
For the Honeywell Proper people, I doubt he thinks highly of any of you guys…

It is probably still true that some very high fraction, maybe 90%, of western aircraft have at least some Honeywell content. Between APUs, flight recorders, weather radars, avionics, brakes, actuators, and all the rest it is hard to build a plane without Honeywell.

The better question that management should answer is: Is Honeywells share/spend of each aircraft increasing or decreasing? What is leadership actually doing to keep that share increasing?

The only product to make a splash was the UV light robot airplane cleaning thingy that came after COVID, what ever happened to that great innovation

Elliot is saving Honeywell from the current vampires. It needs a complete clean out of current C-Suite and a fresh new board.

OK. The Kool-Aid people say we own 90% of the aerospace market. I don’t believe this anymore.

What percent of aerospace market does Honeywell control and can you list it here.

I guarantee there’s gonna be a lot of people who Elliott management and his alliance picked to be on the board directors.

No, I don’t think it’s gonna be business as usual. With these clowns already talking that way, I guarantee Elliot management will put them in their place. They want shareholder value.

I truly believe that Honeywell will continue through Aero and be successful. I however think the remaining businesses will be broken up and sold off over the next decade. The current leadership and structure within the nonsense 'Automation' monika is a disaster for future prospects. The name Honeywell is increasingly devalued, too the point it would not surprise me if Resideo stop licensing the name, those clowns would be better off with a fresh rebrand. I wish good luck to Aero, I want to see some good emerge from the debacle if the last decade!!

There is some truth regarding "Honeywell Proper people, I doubt he thinks highly of any of you guys".
Automation has been losing business for quite some time, think about any new security system Ring Cameras, Ring Smoke Detectors, Nest Thermostat, Nest smoke detectors, Wyze cameras, etc, - 15 yrs ago all this market was owned almost entirely by Honeywell. The same goes with Industrial sites. Honeywell products are being decimated.
Let me know if you have seen any Honeywell products that made a splash in the market in the last 10-15 yrs. Can't think of any. Meanwhile, all these new products Nest, Wyze, Ring, Tesla, SpaceX happened during Honeywell's dormant years. Someone stole our market. Question: did we hold any of the leaders accountable?

I don't think he's talking about revs (40% sales), Maybe employee footprint?

In all fairness, Aero is more like 40% of the sales rather than 1/4, so half the profit isn't all that terrible.

That said, you are right all the executives are desperately avoiding any connection with Elliot.
