HR person again, if that’s true (and it was years ago), that was based on the Union contract at the time and wasn’t a special offer. Even when they do get offered to craft, they a very very limited, usually for folks with so many years of service the bosses want them gone anyways because they don’t do much. I’m not aware of any packages being offered to management or craft now or in the future. Those days are done. Benefits are only going to be less and less from here on out.

Company offered SIPP and a bonus of up to 50k based on yrs of service just 2 yrs ago. 3 in my former crew accepted the package. This happened after everyone kept saying, no more packages or offers will be offered again. The company was trying to keep their younger workforce while incentivizing the most senior techs.
Management maybe different because they don’t have a contract so the company can surplus at will whomever they want. They also can change policies on healthcare, pension and other benefits too for current and retiree’s. Not as easy with craft due to the contract.
I’m in HR. No packages any longer. Not going to happen. That gets asked every single time and the answer is always to same, no packages now or in the future planned. Those days are over and have been for quite some time. Those of you holding out for a “package” are waiting in vain. It’s not coming. All of leadership are a hard no on packages. Unless there’s a big leadership change, it’s never going to happen. Up to 6 months severance or whatever is in your union contract if you are craft is all you’re getting. Take what you can get now because those offers are only going to get less and less.

There was a VTP with a surplus for leg-T comm techs on 2016 in Denver. Some NTS were allow to take it if a comm tech had the skills to take over their job.
There were no offers for NTS’s in 2017. Please stop making things up.
Perhaps, but there definitely was an offer for ABFS technicians in 2017! I still have the paperwork, the one inch thick package that was FedExed to my house in Sept. of that year!

I wish I had a quarter for every time my supervisor said, "There will no longer be any packages offered because those are a thing of the past!" No sooner than that was said, a package was offered. These people don't know anything about VTP offers! Even if they say there will never be packages, don't believe it for a minute! Don't believe anyone, especially on this blog site!

Lol, that absolutely won’t happen. VTP for a Legacy T tech with 30 years is 104 weeks pay and that hasn’t been offered in 20 years.
You're 100% WRONG with this statement! I was offered this VTP as well as many other legacy T technicians back in Sept, 2017 and many techs took the offer! I know many that are gone from T as a result of that offer! I did not take the offer because I wasn't ready to quit working at the time. So, don't make inaccurate statements here if you don't know!

Source? I know in Sambar’s call he said no packages now or in the future. So those waiting on some package from back in the day, that ain’t going to happen. Those days are done and not returning.
