I believe about half of IT operates this way—they’re glued to PowerPoint, Excel, or tools like CMDB ServiceNOW or other checklist tool.
Their main job seems to be pestering others, asking them to do the work of filling out checklists, like detailing the tech an app uses, what CIA is this app, and many others. I always wonder, why can’t they look it up themselves and ask meaningful questions?
A LOT OF US ARE swamped with actual work! They’re not technical (an excuse to pester the technical folks) and refuse to put in the effort. This just piles more tasks onto the people who genuinely contribute to Chevron by building new products for the business or improving existing ones.
They know who they are, and they all need to go....
