I have stopped hoping that the positions of some of the employees who left will be backfilled at all. However, does mgmt think that those of us who are still around will continue doing triple workloads forever?
Although some think that in the future there will be fewer and fewer backfills, I think it won't work out like that and they will have to change their strategy. Because this is not the only circus in town. There is life beyond this misery.
Would you rather have triple workload or be unemployed?

Precious few ever leave. For good reason. I bet you'll be at work Monday morning. Ive averaged 60-70hrs a week for my entire wireline career(20 years)

Be happy you have work. Many dont. And just because you have work, doesn't mean you won't be surprised next quarter. Telecommunications is volatile.
Management by fear and intimidation. You will either pick up the slack or be on the next list. This has been the MO since Uncle Eddie bought Ameritech. Get busy working or get busy leaving.
My group had three people leave and we were told to suck it up. I cut my hours back to 35 a week instead. Let it all back up.
Too much work to lay off. No lay off for any field tech right now. Too many ppl still using legacy equipment. IP only services are not as reliable as they thought. 911 agreements need to be read carefully. If there’s no power I hope your cell phone can work to call 911. Also address detection from call .

T will never be a great company because it is still run like a utility company with the old Bell mentality! It never had to worry about competition back in its day because it was the only show in town before the breakup. The problem is, the company is still run that way and acts like their bank account is an endless atm machine. Management just can’t help itself or the company unless an outsider comes in and takes over. T needs an outsider that wasn’t groomed through the Bell system. Then, maybe things might change!
If you are being offered double your salary why are you waiting to leave? Is there something special in your pension that happens when u reach 25 years or is that needed for MR75?
Milk them for all the OT and double time that you can.
That will only happen once the pension eligible employees are gone.
I am pension eligible and will leave the day I hit 25 years- two years to go. Vendors have already offered double my salary.
T is a joke! Too much debt, too many outstanding shares and no vision.
For those starting out or a mid-career, there are many great companies out there. T will not be a great company- ever. Wireless will become more of a commodity as margins get squeezed. So you’re left with fiber and that a a very busy market.
