Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

In what ways do they try to "motivate" you to leave voluntarily?

It costs less to make employees leave voluntarily, than to pay for packages. I think they are becoming more and more creative in that sense.

Other than the benefits reductions, the non-stop micromanaging and treating employees like they’re kindergartners is a big turnoff. Threatening employees with retaliation if your manager doesn’t reach their bonus objectives. Never more than 3 months away from the next surplus and basically chasing you out the door as soon as you get hired on. You have to be really committed and flexible to be able to stay with this company long-term.

Where have you been for the last decade?

The Ratty and Stinky is more than sufficient motivation to leave Toxic-T!

For sales, they will look for loopholes to terminate you. Small policy violations… like short personal calls on your COU. If they really want you out, they make you set ridiculous commitments and hit you hard if you don’t do them

Stop talking about packages. There are no packages.

They are making me actually work.

Good riddance. Why do lazy people think they are entitled to whine while dragging down the company for everyone else?

You think your cozy WFH a-s has it bad? My heart bleeds for you. Why don't you go and work a less than minimum wage job where your boss steals your tip? Where you live paycheck to paycheck and can't make ends meet because companies are profiteering off inflation. That's the reality for a lot of people right now.

Wouldn't it burn you up to have left last year to maintain your HC & then get the letter informing you this year that after 2023 - your only choice thru the t is a UHC DisAdvantage plan?

The last example I can think of prompted the big exodus last year: if you are eligible for retiree health insurance, leave by the end of the year or you'll find yourself ineligible for same.
