Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is One My Worst Decisions in Life

Changed careers and joined Intel a few years ago. I was buried in an IT ops role with zero product exposure for a few years such that I didn’t grasp the depths of Intel’s problems until too late. What an id--t. I just wanted to come in and put in a day’s honest work at a good company. I’ve always been a high achiever in life. Intel’s culture and performance have squashed that out of me.

Accepting an offer at this company is one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in life. And I have done some fu--ing ignorant things.

Struggling to accept that my career has little chance of recovering from it. You play the game the way you’ve been told it’s supposed to be played your whole life and the reward at the end of the road is…Intel?!? WTF?

Yeah, yeah, I’m clearly one of the mo--ns on this board. Trust me, I know. But so many execs from this company should be doing perp walks it’s disgusting. Ruin the careers and livelihoods of thousands and then get another CEO gig to run another company into the ground (BK). Fu-k the world.

@b8, not everyone is like you just because you liked to wear your sisters dresses when you were younger.

I don’t understands those who would down vote a post that is giving a positive message to the OP, they must be soulless people who have no joy or nothing in their life.

Intel has a great DEI program. Maybe you should get transed and join it.

Your life is ruined and there is no getting it back. Social Security is your future, no more no less.

@OP do not look back. You will be just fine in future without INTC. Landing on a job is not that difficult. If you are focused everything will fall into place. Take it easy on yourself and do not try to use those curse work on you or others.

OP, don’t beat yourself up too hard or let Intel drag you down I think you will be fine, perhaps you can change careers again, hope you have a good support system/family.

No point in beating yourself with regrets , it will only make it worse , find job with same intensity of performing at job , u will sure get it and come out of Intel rot , very depressive env . There is nothing u cannot recover from , there r much worse things in this world happen than career failures , my friend . Have perspective and patience . Hope this helps

I've made two major career mistakes.

  1. Turning down a job at Apple after passing a 1:1 with Steve Jobs .

Intel at the time seemed like I won the lotto. But now it’s turned into a huge career mistake

The UAE is giving working permits for Uber Eats drivers. Don’t worry about giving them your passport, the papers they give you may (or may not) be sufficient to get you on a plane home once a year.

The good thing is that Intel has a fabulous EAP plan where you can call it and get immediate professional counseling. Go out to circuit and type EAP in the search bar and call the number…..guaranteed to make you feel better.
