There is NO work going on. Digitalization has finally eliminated the need for CWA represented employees. Current contract limits forced layoffs of the scale required. Would an offer not be a realistic option?

Just hang out and hang in there until you can’t see or can’t walk. Show up get paid.
OP is clueless!
There is more of a need for technicians than ever before since more work is resulting from big national contracts and lots of Mom and Pop businesses being sold!

Digitization. You don't even know what that word means, cell phone seller. What you do know how to to is add services and stack fees on customer's accounts. As an AT&T employee you could not melt and pour me into an AT&T COR store. I have no need for fraud on my mobility account..
Same here, mobility, all the OT you care to eat. Sometimes it seems like feast or famine.
Mobility here, my work group is choking on work. Up until last week, it was all the overtime you could handle to get caught up.
2023 will be like 2022, which was like 2021 ...
There is only one thing I've heard this year - that they want to do something with Business wireline. But I don't think they have a concrete plan, and if and when they come up with one, we don't know the time frame.
No, it would not be realistic.
I can only speak as a CO tech, but our construction splicers are busy, busy, busy as the install new fiber all over the place. We are getting engineering jobs to have new equipment placed in the central offices all the time.
But you are correct, there probably won't be any more offers coming. There are too many of us that got hired around the same time and we will all just be naturally retiring in the next 5 to 10 years.
People have been asking for these offers for at least the last 20 years and there have been none, and I don’t think it’s going to change. If the company wants to get rid of people, they’ll just announce more surpluses. There’s only one group of employees that has a watermark and they are a very small part of the company spread throughout all 50 states. Other than that, the company can do layoffs for CWA whenever they want.
No, there will be no more offers. With natural attrition with management increasing, no need to. I would imagine as new contracts get signed, there will be a decrease in headcount numbers.
