Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

3Q RESULTS ARE IN

What do you think? Do you think it changes the scope of the surplus that leaders mentioned earlier this month? Also, anyone ever listen to the earnings call? Stank never sounds upbeat, tends to be monotone and sounds as if he just rolled out of bed. Much different than any other time he gives a “speech”

I hate it when there is good news about AT&T.

This is the best news evar! Now that we have righted the ship, layoffs should be in the rearview mirror. All employees have good reason to celebrate. Stankey deserves the credit for his vision in making this happen. We are now a communication company moving toward number one status in mobility and fiber.

We need to layoff more people to keep the momentum going.

tower build rules continually flip flopping who we can build on…deals really aren’t better just hidden costs / clever accounting Someone should do the real math

They have already announced there will be 1st quarter 2023 surplus in C&E. That will not change. Also financials are easily adjusted to look better. They have slowed the build plan way back since July to make these numbers. Having to slow down half way through the year is not a good sign.

I don't see why surpluses concern themselves with anything other than lack of work. For some reason, we get these repeated posts that AT&T is teaming with thousands of employees counting paperclips that AT&T would gladly continue to pay, absent adverse economic conditions.

It's all nonsense. If someone is performing a job that directly results in the company making money or supports a unit that makes money, they have a job. Period. Done.

Nope. Zero to do with layoffs. Are you new here?

We should lay off the workers that are not needed. Hire where there is work to be done. Run AT&T like a business.

He did say something like that the revenue or profitability per employee is inferior to our peers. And various other companies our size (mentioned Microsoft and banks) are restructuring to adapt to new environment.

It would be stupid to continue with layoffs with financial results like this.

How do you know what Stankey sounds like rolling out of bed? Is there something we should know?

Getting back to "BLUE CHIP" status! I figured we would turn things around but never dreamed it would be this quick. God bless america! Thanks Mr. Stankey.
WoW! I'm so elated!

Surplus will continue despite quarterly results. Company is cost cutting its way out of expense commitment targeting long time employees and overall headcount. Reduction in capital investment is a nonstarter, employees will bear the brunt of cuts.

We're back baby! It feels good knowing that we are finally turning in great financial results. The best part is it is just us, mobility and fiber, no more DTV or Warner Media to dilute our financials. Can I get three cheers for Stankey?

Glad to see we beat earnings- although earnings were forecasted down for the year.
Big question is how much debt was paid down and what was the ebidta number. That’s what analyst want to see.
Nothing will change the surplus and company direction. The company is hiring low pay workers as we speak. That should tell us all the direction they are headed.

The Stink sounds just like a mentally ill person on medications.

Yeah, keep on buying Toxic-T stock for the 6% dividend and don't pay any attention to the 50% stock price decline.

Stink appreciates that you invest like an I D I O T as he can keep filling up his bank account!

Solid results. Does not change surplus plan to keep T on course to help control cost. Need to continue to retire and turn down those legacy application & infrastructure.

could any one explain, what is revenue with continuous operations? For ex: DTV or our undersea cable (roaming partners)?

Do we need to add them with revenue generated by mobility?

So total of $30B + 4B(just imagining) is our revenue for the quarter ?
