Honeywell COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate Class Action Lawsuit

Honeywell is accused of requiring its exempted employees to wear color-coded identification badges to display their vaccination status, adhere to weekly testing, and use separate common areas for bathrooms and lunch breaks.

“Indeed, Defendant’s actions towards Plaintiffs were not intended for safety measures but were, instead, designed to harass and punish Plaintiffs because they requested exemptions,” states the Honeywell class action.

“The United States Supreme Court has long held that the right to refuse unwanted medical treatment is a fundamental human right,” states the Honeywell class action.

The current and former employees argue Honeywell—which they say enacted its COVID-19 vaccine mandate on or around May of last year—only “superficially” granted exemptions for “sincerely held religious beliefs.”

“Defendant’s exemptions were not exemptions at all, and instead were a means to appear in compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act,” states the Honeywell class action.

Further, the current and former employees claim the exemptions granted by Honeywell were only meant to single out, “publicly shame,” and segregate workers based upon their “perceived disability status.”

In addition to allegedly violating the Civil Rights Act, Honeywell is accused of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Emergency Use Authorization.

Plaintiffs are demanding a jury trial and requesting declaratory and injunctive relief along with an award of actual damages for themselves and all Class Members.

The current and former employees seek to represent a class of all current or former Honeywell workers who, since May 2021, have objected to the company’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on account of their sincerely held religious beliefs or disability status.

I’m going to hesitantly post a different perspective on this… though I completely agree that the way they handled the vax ‘requirement’ was completely ridiculous, and I agree that those who were affected by not getting the jab should be compensated - what about those of us who did not really want to get the vax and never intended to, but ultimately did in order to keep our jobs (our livelihoods, family income & benefits, etc.)…only to be fired months later in the Sept. 2022 RIF…? I am hopeful there will be a suit to fit that as well, since I have no idea what affects the vax I felt pressured to get might have in the future - oh yea, we were also told if we did get an exemption, then our benefit cost would go up & weekly testing required - but then that never happened or was required for those with an exemption… all just wrong on both sides of vax status - and they were one of the few companies that did this, hiding behind ‘the government is making us’ LOL. ‘Coincidental’ that since this class action lawsuit was already in place, those who had an exemption were immune from the recent RIFs, even if they should’ve been the first to go (less responsibility and higher salary) 🤔

You'll end up getting justice and the cads at Honeywell will get what they deserve. Don't attempt to intimidate people form joining the class action lawsuit. That's obstruction of justice.

It was absolutely required. I was in HSE meetings at Deer Valley where they discussed how to put pressure on employees to take the jab, especially those who asked for a religious exemption. When you segregate people with colored lanyards and masks because they choose not to take the jab or not to share their private medical information, disregard their rights, subject them to a religious test, and then send out an email to the entire company of who is jabbed and who is not jabbed, it's a per se violation of civil rights and creates a hostile and harassing work environment. That is per se violation of the law and Honeywell must be held accountable for doing so.

I wonder how many Honeyhell sites emailed those infamous spreadsheet hit lists to hundreds of employees citing the names and medical status of the "unclean" like where I work? Very likely EEOC and HIPPA violations.

As the cases make their way to court I believe that Honeyhell will have to give a list to the class action law firm of those employees who received an exemption, quit, or were fired. They will then contact them to see if they are interested in joining. You could also contact the law firms directly as they are listed in the filings.

Good info on the suit here:

Get your popcorn ready! With the NY ruling, and the state's appeal, this will ultimately end up in the Supreme Court. Can't wait to watch Honeywell scramble to offer up a settlement!

The NY SC ruling was actually quite damning in stating what has been obvious for almost 2 years to those with even a modicum of commonsense & critical thinking skills:
“Being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting Covid-19,” adding that the mandates were “about compliance”.

Honeywell is accused of requiring its exempted employees to wear color-coded identification badges to display their vaccination status,

It was never required. It was clearly communicated you did not have to wear a green badge - you could wear a mask instead.

Or, you could stop crying and not take the jab OR get fired - you could take control of your life and move on.

I did. I love my new job and was never asked about the jab. Make a lot more money too.

To the HR troll @ker+1jiIbOyp,

You would only be making our dreams come true if you fire us after joining the lawsuit, as that will not only give us better standing, but also a larger payout. This might just be the golden opportunity for an early retirement! It is also well known that HON really LOVES to settle these types of suits out of court, with little publicity, and a Non Disclosure Agreement in place!

BTW, I know of 2 people at my site that have already won discrimination lawsuits against HON and they are still working here. The hush, hush part is that once you have filed, you even have a golden ticket against RIFs and PIPs...

If you are listed in the lawsuit you should look for a new job ASAP.

You may win the battle you are going to loose the war. You won’t end up where you think you will.

Finally! The wheels of justice move slowly. This will be the first of many, including for vaccine injuries.
