Mandatory overtime

It's miserable. I'm tired all the time. How much mandatory overtime do you do on a regular basis?

anywhere from 44 to 50 hours. I'll take the overtime. Failures pay more, and things are failing quite a bit more as of late...

I want my overtime. No raises and who cares if the hourly pay from other companies eventually matches us. Just give me that overtime, and let me push your parts.

I'm eating a lot of money working overtime. Monday through Sunday. Plus, holidays too. I'm in heaven with overtime.

I think Honeywell is very clever. They hired a bunch of addicts who think they are making incredible amount Money working non-stop overtime. They love working Monday through Sunday. This is where the no common sense takes place like in any addiction.

You would have to work less hours if they gave you the cost of living raise. Which actually meets with you supposed to get. They would actually make more money working overtime if they had an increase in their salary. They don’t see it this way. Instead give me more overtime. I’m addicted to it.
They became slaves to their addiction and the company. Which the company uses to increase their matrix and management can get a big bonuses. On the way they might also get promoted.

When you have any form of addiction. You don’t use common sense. Yes! You demand a lot of money working overtime. However, you have no life and you’re a slave to the company. The company loves this philosophy. They give you a pathetic raise or no raise at all. They count on you working Monday through Sunday. They know that when you have an addiction you won’t be able to help yourself and have common sense. So you’ll work those 12 hours a day. Monday through Sunday. Because you’ll never get enough overtime to cover your addictive personality, this why all union contracts pass. Clever for Honeywell to hire a bunch of pathetic addicts. We don’t have to give any raises. If we do it’s gonna be really small. We know the pathetic addicts. Have one thing on their mind. I need more overtime. I need some more overtime. So let’s work Monday through Sunday, I can’t miss one day at work. Otherwise my net pay will drop. Proving your truly are addicts.
This is how the company keeps the plant running Monday through Sunday. Anyone who doesn’t have this attitude. The company will find a way to get rid of you. When you’re addicted to something you will never have common sense.

Look at my net pay when I worked as much overtime. Where else are you gonna make this amount of money. So my company has become a place for addictive personalities, and have become slaves to their addiction. Just like a dr-g addict, or any other hangup that a person might have. They can never get enough.

Honeywell knows that they have this type of workforce. So that’s why you get the pathetic raises you usually get. They won’t even have to give you a raise. They know that these addicts need their overtime. So this is why the company will never cave-in, because they’re betting that your addictive personality will get the best of you. No common sense.

I need my overtime, I just keep thinking about my overtime. My net pay will be huge. Common sense would say ge-z I gotta work Monday through Sunday. If I made more money I might be able to work less hours, and if I made more an hour by overtime would be more. Not at Honeywell.

By the way! I’m looking for a new job I don’t wanna work Monday through Sunday. Who cares what my net pay is. I wanna life.

Another stupid post. Working at Honeywell is not mandatory. You chose and continue to choose to work there. Don’t like it? Find something else.

Not charging your hours for a project is illegal.

It’s also stupid you would hide your hours to “help” a company that doesn’t know how to bid for a project properly or retain good employees.

If you think you will get somewhere for working all this OT you are not charging for - all you will get is it will be expected of you moving forward. You will not get a decent raise or promotion for it. Those are only for ppl they think they might loose. But by then it’s usually too late. And they loose them anyway.

Not charging for one can be illegal, and grounds for termination.
Also, it's the amount your department charges project for your time. It is internal play money and does not effect the numbers to wall street.
Finally, you are making the situation worse. Project needs to feel the pain if they didn't plan the budget properly. Otherwise the next project will be under funded even worse.

I'll take all of the OT they'll give me. I'm hourly. I get time and a half over 40 hrs per week.
I would never work any unpaid overtime. No Way

Honeywell office drone here. And I think this was laid out on this thread or another but specific questions that need gores might want to consider. This mandatory OT. Is it paid? Is it 5 x 9 hours days or something? Is it weekends? Is it banked? I assume not as we have glorious unlimited PTO. If the expectation is unpaid, unbanked, OT then this company deserves to die. However, if you are paid for your OT then that, IMHO, coming from Oil, is fair. But I get the feeling it’s not paid in the plants and that is why I think this is a toxic company.

Not charging is just as bad as overcharging.
I do the mandatory 46 hours and to heck with training and other meetings. Haven’t had a 1:1 since my mid year. Total time with mgr this year .. 120 minutes exactly in 10 months. Haven’t been in same room with boss in years even though we are at same site.
No chance we would recognize each other even in the hallway with badges around neck.

I do plenty. But I don't charge it because it will hurt my project and department. Honeywell's policy doesn't allow a true understanding of our situation and that is by design.
