Unionizing in Phoenix

Anyone hear about cards being sent out to "gauge interest in union representation"?

When I got approached, I immediately was on board. No more 9 block forced distribution, no more 2% raise if I'm lucky, no more 'your turn for a PIP' because of the non-quota quota on PIPs, no more only the DIU folks get the promotions. I know quite a few Boeing engineers up in Everett that say the union gave them protections.

Great question. The only thing they have to lose is free license to take every advantage possible of the employees to pad the bottom line so they can get their “SBU of the quarter” fancy bottle of wine.
Pathetic.

OK all of the HR trolls giving the down votes, please enlighten us as to what we have to lose by forming an Engineering Union? Or hourly union for that matter?
Honeywell benefits and working conditions are the worse in the industry. I only see two options to get better; quit or form a union.

Lot of down votes with no comments guess the union buster org is getting going. I called the number and got connected to office of some politician in Oregon wanting donations and talking about intel in phoenix. Next

Ex UAW member. Be aware if you express interest in learning more about the card person to person that you will be pressured to sign even if you express reservations. And in the end, be prepared to strike if necessary.

What do you have to lose?

  • - Big raises?
  • Job Security?
  • Great Benefits?
  • Vacation?
  • Unpaid overtime?

Nope. Face it, we are it this he-l ho-e because we can’t push back. Only option is to leave. I think a union is long overdue to stop the abuse.

I'm not in Phoenix, but I would encourage everyone to sign up. While unions aren't perfect, much of the prevalent anti-union sentiment has been generated by relentless corporate propaganda. You currently have zero leverage as an individual employee. Corporations hate unions. That is really all you need to know to want to be in some union. Now what union, and the specifics of the union platform are different matters. If the company closes the site, who cares. You are likely better off, and the company's reputation will suffer further. HW is terrified of unions, go terrify them.

lol, card is a legal document used to get a union in, not just to "gauge interest." best to be informed before signing anything.

Not an endorsement either way - NLRB says sign a card and you are bound to the union position. Not a “gauge of interest”.

Yes, I am working that effort. We can deliver info to facilities at request. There are notification rules we have to follow if we distribute onsite so we try to visit people at their home and let them give out to friends.
