Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Did anyone notice the new 'low cost' medical plan...

...covers literally NOTHING for non-emergency treatment out of network? I mean at least under the old plan, there was some ceiling for OON, even if it was $10,000.

With this new plan, you could go to the hospital for what you truly believe is an emergent situation, rack up a half million dollar medical bill (it's not that hard), and a bureaucrat at the insurance company could claim it wasn't based on an emergency, and you would be on the hook for the ENTIRE THING.

Ever had a kidney stone? Excruciating pain and potential blockage and infection is an obvious emergency right? Well, not according to Cigna health! Get your kidney stone treated at an out of network provider, and you get literally zero coverage.

To keep the same plan for me (currently Bronze) I have to go with High D Broad, jump from $75 per month (individual) to $150 per month. Unless I want to have no non network coverage by taking the High D Select and it stays at $75.

I used the tool to check for in-network hospitals around the country and allot of area's have zero in-network facilities. Guess I have to stop traveling or pay the $150 per month for the H.D. Broad. :(

I woke up vomiting in severe pain, blood in Ur--e and thought I had cancer. Ambulance picked me up & dropped me off at a hospital. I thought I was dying. Woke up a day later and the Doc. told me that I had a stone & he removed it. Kept me for 4 days in the hospital with infection before release and got a huge bill later. UHC advantage plan person told me Kidney Stones are not emergencies and didn't want to pay. So I told them that I was didn't realize I had a Kidney Stone going in just knew I was dying. Note to self, if your having a Stone don't go to hospital. Self diagnose first. Stones are not emergencies.
I wonder is chest pain (heart attack) going into a coma (stoke) nor getting scr- ewed by AT&T (STD) is an emergency?

After 2028 you will most likely not have at&t subsidized healthcare! Thanks Stephenson and Stankey for wrecking a once healthy company.

OP. Your are right on!
I had a stone & begged to die. Woke up next day after the OON Doc retrieved the stone with a basket. Went to a ntwk hospital at midnight, the Urologist told my wife that he had to go in then or I would ruin my kidneys. She tried to help save my life - she didn't ask if he was in the ntwk (he was not) - and he did SAVE MY KIDNEYS & LIFE.
2 mos later I got hospital/doc bills OON. About $40K. I paid both the "discounted" rate about $15K & took 2 yrs to get UHC to pay as they told me I went OON, should not have paid the bills - again 2years later being hounded by skip tracers threatening to ruin my credit. Finally told the woman of color with an attitude reimburse or I suing. Talk about an attitude, that bi.otch d-mb f'er N-----. Advantage plans are not worth the trouble. Even if t drops HRA I will never get an Advantage PLan. Never buy from UHC.
And now over 65 suggest orig Medicare + Plan G Supplement + Rx Plan.

It's the lowest cost plan, but it cost more than last year's better plan

Maybe you shouldn't pick a low cost plan.

Yet, company insisting this is what we want. They must have talked to Stankey’s direct reports, they do nothing but nod their heads.
