Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Worse is yet to come - Q12023 - perfect storm (financially)

Rumblings, I'm hearing from Dallas, much like all the tech companies , T needs to make significant cuts, come Q12023, for a couple reasons, besides the obvious stock price which is in the toilet, there's a perfect storm of financial headwinds brewing... among them... they keep bleeding subs draining revenue, inflation is causing consumers issues, and premium phone plans with data are going to be first on chopping block, finally the new higher interest rate environment is going to wreak havoc with T's Debt servicing.. All this and more means headcount reductions and property consolidations will happen quickly come 2023. Expect to hear the rumblings in your next town hall, with corporate buzzwords like sustainability, financial alignment, market headwinds etc..

He-l yeah Mobility is kicking a-s. They make up 80% of the companies revenue. Time time cut bait on wireline, been holding T back for years.

Not going to happen for various reasons, namely it’s been tried before and failed other places.

"I am going to predict the results will be relatively okay. The hint comes in the form of the “Let’s talk earnings” meeting scheduled for Thursday that The Stank is hosting. He would not schedule such a meeting to report bad news. " from @1deb+1jeFzmuc

Or possibly to try and spin the news as good.

@1tsu+1jeFzmuc, the record breaking you are referring to are on wireless subs? I think the bleeding subs and cuts is related to wireline.

Reports are coming in that Q3 will be another record-breaking quarter. Looks like all the hard work pulling the stop spending money levers paid off, however not sustainably. Fingers crossed there are enough retires at the end of 2022 to the bottom line entering 2023.

“Bleeding subs…” ? From where? We had the best 2Q in a decade as far as adding wireless postpaid subs (813,000).

Quarterly earnings will read similar to business services self reported numbers. Trending up with growth everywhere. It's laughable that they believe their own fiction....

And leadership-meaning levels 3 and above-have been more distant and quiet than ever. Hop on calls with their own agenda and hop off at lightning speed.
