I called in to turn off my DTV when the concession disappeared and was told to throw away my digital boxes. All 4 still work & I even gave one to my sister who still had an abandoned DTV dish on her roof. She's enjoying Hallmark & Fox News for free. I saved the email DTV response when I disconnected so I'm not worried about being back billed.
Anyone else getting free DTV (legally) but not paying for it?
Just wondering. I'm thinking this could go on forever.
Thanks at&t/DirecTV.

Still $10 a month + Sunday ticket.
@2uyt+1jcby64D Yep, I know. And my my F&F are using it and watching highly discounted programming off the old boxes.
Just a heads up to @1alk+1jcby64D. No one comes and gets that p.o.s. Dish off your roof. It’s yours forever to sit and spin on. Cheers!
Don't get suckered in, keep all receipts, don't throw away any leased equipment, even when told to do so. Throw the equipment up in the attic and forget about it, until you need to return it.
I got it for free for 11 months when I got laid off. And I put all their shi+ in the garbage. I don't care what they do to my credit.
I still have Directv with 5 extra ancient boxes and I'm paying close to $130 a mo. for programming.
Am renting those boxes out to 5 friends and family for $35ea. and they are getting cheap programming and I'm making a little Biden Anti Inflation Money doing it. What's funny is these people had DTV previously and turned it off but ATT was too lazy to come get their ugly dish off these roofs, so I repurposed them using my boxes.
They are happy, DTV is happy, I'm happy, everyone is happy. Thanks ATT, "the one to call".
Enjoy your free ride. Provide your account numbers.
I dropped DTV when the discount went away and was told to return all the boxes. The guy at the UPS store even reminded me to save the shipping receipts, which I certainly did.
It sucks if you threw them away. I wouldn't do that for ANY service company.
Only problem is how do you complain about service when your getting the service for free?
Just change the channel and learn to like BET I guess.
I’m getting free DTV streaming. It’s been two years… great streaming service.
I'm still paying $10 a month. Was going to switch to local cable provider as I wasn't paying $200 or whatever for DTV... but sticking with DTV as long as it's still $10 a month. I have no problem benefitting from ineptitude.
I turned mine off in February. No information was told about getting the equipment back, but I knew better. 8 months later, UPS drops off a box at my house. No explanation. I opened it up, and it was for my DTV equipment. I had put it all up in a closet. Glad I hung on to it.
My card cut off on March 1 like clockwork.
Same here. I guess the support person in Pakistan forgot to press the ENTER key when
I called in to cancel. It's been about a year or so. Thanks DirecTV.
Signed,
A loyal watching free TV unpaying non-cutomer.
I am for 2 years with Sunday ticket. They said reward for all my years of service.
