Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

It's good to be out

I was so tired of having to pretend my boss is in any way competent and hide that I was fixing his mistake on daily bases for fear of retribution. I was tired of working 60+ hour weeks and never getting any recognition for it. Most of all, I was tired of having to watch great people be put on PIP just so HON could remove them from the payroll. I've been gone for less than a week and I already feel so much better.

Left in November- SPS- after 20 plus years. Bed thing I ever did. I feel so much younger and less stressed!

I left earlier this year after more than a decade at Honeywell. Went on contract for Boeing. It's great to get OT for hours more than 40 and be treated like an asset instead of a liability. It took time to find a better job. It was worth every bit of effort. The rest of tech may be going through rough times, but aviation tech is still going strong for companies that treat their people well and have actual leadership.

HPD update SPS- HR mandated 1 PIP, 1 elbow, rest 5, one 4 permitted if director approves. No adjustment budget at all. 2.4% across team. No if, ands, or buts. Merry Christmas to those still here. Can’t wait to reward all of your hard work with an effective pay cut!

Just left as well on my own account, after 26 years. So happy! At this point in time it feels like Honeywell is cult as those who are inside don’t want to acknowledge it is not normal to work like this. My new employer is fantastic and pays more, why I didn’t move earlier I don’t know, because I was in a cult??

I'm in SPS still. FM site. We lost a ton of people over the past 3 rounds. I'm not sure if the division will survive, but that may be the master plan. Our design center we lean on for all things technical in NJ was slaughtered as well. Maybe that site will just close at this point. Happy holidays to DA and GK though.

Judging by your problem (long hours, incompetent boss), I am guessing you worked in Aero. Sadly, that can be said for quite a few departments. Any boss hired in the past 4 or 5 years aren't chosen for their experience/qualifications/achievements/leadership. Instead, they hired to meet some obviously illogical quota or they are related to someone.

Does anyone know home many folks in SPS total were cut? I got RIFFED in September. Just wondering if the division is going under completely or being sold off.

Left Honeywell also this year. I was a senior manager/ director in HBT. Best decision ever. Honeywell is a disgrace. Shocking how they treat their employees. Always put shareholders on the first place. Of course, due to an u healthy incentive system for the board. DA is a narcist.

I’m wishing I get my severance pay Monday if it’s round four in SPS. I am in NJ SPS. 20 plus years here. It’s just despicable how the skilled workers are treated.

@tsf+1jRR4gKn I can assure you if they were good at anything technical they are gone! My manager and director both have recliners with a$$ warmers in the dunce corner at FM! ISC is falling apart due to these snakes. It’s sad HON prompted either of them. I can’t wait for my layoff actually.

FM, where they hide the incompetent and ugly or as we call it the dunce corner for Directors and Managers. Apart from one or two good engineers/technicians (if they are even still there) this building homes some serious wasters. Though I hear it is now mostly a ghost town, they should close it and move the tiny lab to Mexico if they had any sense.

@fwh+1jRR4gKn You must have the same FM manager and director as me. SPS won’t survive with these to running ISC. I hope Monday I’m done too. Fingers crossed!

Hey OP, forget that guy below. I get it. You need to CYA for your managers ineptitude. I have one as well. SPS here. Makes my life just difficult… Can't manage his way out of a paper bag! He lives on because he su€is suck good a$$ to his buddy director. Taking credit for all my work is one thing, but jeez, get off the phone and do something! Here’s to round 4 on Monday. I need my severance to feel this ended correctly for me!

I am with you my friend. I had planned my exit next year but they caught me short, their timing was terrible. On the flipside it is like a huge burden has been lifted, I can not remember sleeping so well despite my economic circumstance! The last few days I have felt the best I have in years and feel very optimistic for the future. For me to say that is really quite something, I had no idea how Honeyhell was affecting my life so badly. All the best for the future!

Good luck with the future. I’m glad you’re happy. Once you’re out you realise how draining the place really is. It’s just awful.

If you gave this place 60+ hrs per week, then you are a chump.
