Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Cushy high-paying job

What are the cushiest jobs at Wells that pay well? I need to stick it out for a year to be vested in my 401k match but I’m sick of doing everyone else’s job for them in my job today. Too much headache for not enough pay.

Which jobs make a lot of money for barely any work?

Become a member of our BOD! That’s the cushiest job to have. You can make between $200K and $800K total compensation annually for doing little more than attending 4 meetings per year.

Ive been here nearly 20 years and once I got past the entry level roles, I've not had a job in the past 15 years where I felt the work was really very necessary at all.
It's all cush. That's why I can't get motivated enough to leave.

A bunch of us were re-labeled as Software Engineers a while back. Go figure. We attend a few meetings a week, but there's no real "work" anymore. Our real jobs are now getting done by people overseas. We can't even see our old stuff anymore. Been this way for over a year now. Why we're still here is strange, but they're still paying us so nobody is saying a peep.

Compliance is filled with a bunch of former CS reps earning way over >$150k. A bunch were given officer titles in attempt to appear we’re in compliance with US Gov’t requirements. They don’t have anything to do. If you pointedly ask, all you’ll get back is word salad.

Find a job on the risk team. All cushy jobs they overhired for. Not much to do but wait around for another big mistake the US Gov will want them to fix and pay big fines for.

My job is the cushiest job. I get paid a generous salary for virtually doing nothing. I’m not going into details, because I don’t want anyone else finding out what I do or that is, don’t do. When you have a lame supervisor, and he don’t care whether you get laid off or not, then you have a very cushy job. Ineffective leadership fosters the wrong motivation.

Just be a bad manager of any group, delegate everything and never lift a finger. If you look around you will find 100s of these people acting like this.
