Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Winter is coming…….

There are many hints at some HUGE changes coming in the near future

With that said, does anyone have any credible information that they can pass along for those of us working in the trenches that also have a sense that something big is coming?

  • Large layoff
  • Furlough
  • Consolidation
  • Sale
  • other

Someone out there knows the deal and it would be great if you share. I’m guessing anything big on the horizon is not good news.

Again, lets restate the original question. Does anybody have any information as to what is coming? Otherwise, we are is just a bunch of peons speculating. There once was a Tired Director who gave us valid information. Now, not so much. We need someone to step up. I know you are out there.

That is called vacation. Do you not understand? Or are you an HR Troll trying to justify you position?

@bpwh+1jJ37SOe You are an id--t. Company agreement is pay for vacation. HR bot cornered. You from Bangalore?

I think they should ask for volunteers for furloughs.
I would be happy to do 1 per quarter.
Think about it. No phone. No computer. No email. No meetings.
Completely disconnected from anything to do with work for 9 consecutive days.
That's better than vacation.

I remember when the first furlough hit in Aero. The decision to do it was very carefully weighed vs layoffs.
Unfortunately it opened the door to what we have now. Furloughs are now just another lever to pull to make quarterly numbers, without giving a second thought to pull the lever.

Furloughs…hilarious (it’s not funny at all) how everyone at Honeywell mentions furloughs like it’s a ‘normal’ thing.

Furloughs are what happen during extreme and unpredictable periods - Covid okay but any other time in last 14 or so years is not unpredictable.

Furloughs are abnormal. And at any time other than Covid furloughs are an example of terrible management.

They are not normal but Honeywell leadership treats its people so incredibly and unbelievably poorly everyone thinks it’s an annual/normal occurrence in a business. Honeywell is so mean it has somehow normalized its employees to think furloughs are ‘okay’, in terms of it’s okay we are not in massive massive strife.

In ever other multinational company I’ve worked I have never even heard the word furlough.

So other stuff might be happening but if furloughs are occurring commonly like they do here Honeywell has huge problems.

Minneapolis Minnesota keep saying the sky isn't falling. The sky is never falling at Minnesota. Even if they merge PMT with TGP.

This could only happen if you relocated RLG commercial to another location. Then they could sell Plymouth building after the relocation to Minneapolis location.

Then move RLG commercial to Clearwater,Florida, Arizona, or all
commercial operations to Mexico.

Later move PMT and TGP to Puerto Rico. The other choice would be able to move it to Arizona, or Clearwater Florida.

However, these Kool-Aid people. Even after they moved Golden valley and Co-n rapids. Really don't believe they can move Minneapolis,, Minnesota. The sky isn't falling in Minnesota.

They really believe this is the only place they can build the gyros. Do they really think they're you're that valuable and our location is special ?

You're not in reality.

When you work for a cult and you're really trying to get promoted. You'll believe anything. If it's too good to be true, it usually isn't. The old saying," when something's too good. There's usually some hidden trap.

Kiss Up - Kick Down. It's in the HON Executive playbook to avoid severance cost if you make them quit. Reallocate that restructuring to bonus incentives...YES!

We have the HCE president and Sine posting about “wage theft” from salaried employees and tracking when people enter/leave the office, so there’s that…

Does anyone have any basis for thinking SPS is done. Or is it just speculation?

@zyu+1jJ37SOe - This isn't the first time UOP has hosted investors in Des Plaines. They did this in 2008 or 2009 while CC was still UOP CEO. I distinctly recall it because we had a water main break between the R&D buildings the day before and CC was standing over the ho-e in the ground at 7 pm demanding the patch be finished before the investors arrived the next day.

Aerospace is in "milk it" mode building we-pons as fast as we can get parts.
I think the aero commercial business transitions to bengaluru and mexico and becomes largely separated from defense businesses. Arizona census goes down.

OP,
Love the title you chose for your post and I think it is appropriate.

Like many others I am hearing unsettling questions/comments. All we can do is to infer/analyze/guess. Of course this is stressful and a motivation ki---r.

Those that are in know would be on a strict NDA and it would be a relatively small group so I don't think any of those folks would risk their jobs posting.

I try to not think about it right now because I don't want that in my mind when I'm with my family. Hard to do but I try.

Everyone in our team is discussing this at the moment, even the coolade drinkers are starting to question the events of the last 2 years. Whilst we have heard nothing directly, our leadership is nervous and making odd comments. My direct manager even said in a team call recently that we would be wise to prep our resumes straight after telling us we were immune from this years layoffs. Every project has become completely dysfunctional due to A) significant attrition and RIF of talent and B) little or no leadership and C) impossible funding reductions. This is in SPS btw. Our best guess is that SPS is about to become a much smaller part of the Honeywell portfolio, a large scale sell off seems likely whilst there is anything left to sell (a bit of IP and some brand names).
