Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

No Xmas until you have worked your hours

Manager passed out “allocated hours”
I have to charge 270 hrs over next 7 weeks. Any deviation will be tracked by name and miss reasons reported each week.

No reason no deliverables just greed.
Meanwhile my manager is taking every Friday off.

Soft layoff. Just force engineers to leave.

I can’t believe they have really now moved to tying “vacation” to the amount of free OT you put in. Well I guess I do believe it, but I never thought they would actually verbalize it to the employees.
Just when I thought they couldn’t go any lower, they have exceeded my expectations.
What an immoral bunch of swine. Shame on them.

One of the most vile parts is the disproportionate allocation employee-to-employee. Employee's not participating in these incentive programs, previously opting out of OT, are being baselined to do the bare minimum of output to get some additional OT hours. Meanwhile, employees previously doing 50-60 hour weeks are being requested to maintain that baseline to meet their target goals.

I was content working the overtime during the busy months, and while being compensated in the old RevCOGS program. However, now, they're basically requesting the same output but for nearly half the pay, depending on your hourly pay. Additionally, there's the conflict I don't suspect the workload will be there to mandate 50+ hour weeks, and stated such. Doesn't matter though. Overrun those programs and charge, charge, charge!

This isn’t a manager thing. This is Honeywell ALT policy. They mandated hours to hit their numbers. ISC can’t ship parts so charge charge charge.
It has gone on so long it is now corporate culture. Unfixable in my opinion.
Can’t wait for 2023 when they dole out punishment for overrunning cost on every single program. No MIP for you.

1ktr,

That is really brutal for your manager to manager to mandate making up vacation. I have been told similar by our management except it is sick leave and all overhead must be made up. Very unethical and borderline illegal…

Yep, told exactly same thing at engines.
If vacation is taken, it must be covered with extra hours worked, otherwise I was told not to take any vacation. 100% allocated and covered. I asked my manager to put it in writing, and they said they would not, was told this is a verbal flowdown, another "I'm sorry, we are just following orders from the top".
I will continue to do the minimum, take the vacation, then see if they fire me, not going to impact my holiday.
I put in vacation for the whole month of January into February. Don't care if approved or not, consider it severance. Make them fire us, the more that are not there, the harder it is on them.

Same here.
When you ask employees for extra once in a while a bonus is adequate.
When you ask day after day, quarter after quarter... going to take more than money.

Same here. Greedy management and managers in CLW

My boss said roughly the same thing. Been a boss for about a year now so really has no answers when I ask them. Hard to believe this was the candidate they chose over qualified ones (I guess the other one didn't meet the secret woke/diversity criteria). I am sure they will shuffle the managers around again with 12 months to obscure the fact that it is getting worse. Can a Kaizen event fix bad management decisions? Anyone notice how HR generalists become HR managers in record time?

I’ve said this before… my budget can’t afford to be burned at that clip. It will be turned off well before Christmas with us only working 75%. If the work or budget is not there, then they can go pound sand….

I did ask for written objectives and got a spreadsheet clip. Department goals are all over the map. Seems like the spreadsheet was generated by some script kiddie in the IT land. Apparently based on one specific week charges and extrapolated.
I don’t have enough hours to do this left on the programs I’m working.

This is an easy one...
I'd work 9.65 hours per day, 4 days a week.
That = 38.6 hours per week.
Times 7 weeks = 270.2 hours.
Enjoy your Fridays off.

It is seven weeks until the end of the year, but that includes the holidays so it is really only 5 and a half weeks. Many people were planning to take vacation, so it is really around 5 weeks of planned work.
270 / 5 = 54 hours/week (average) if you want time off.

Ask for the allocation assignment in writing and clarification that you will not be able to take your company holidays unless overtime is worked.

I don’t understand 270 / 7 = 38.6.
