Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell Salary Increase and Job Security

HR gave me a 20% salary increase out of the blue to stay competitive with the market. Is this atypical? Should I be worried about being more expensive given tech industry layoffs?

Is Honeywell at risk of layoffs? They keep rolling out overtime bonuses so aren’t we already understaffed? That’s job security, right?

No. I'm calling BS. A coworker asked our director level boss for an "equitable adjustment".
The question was met with a laugh and "that's a good one, I never heard that before. No."
They were underpaid for what they did. Still was not gonna happen

SPS manager here. We are not permitted to make market adjustments. No matter what the situation. 8 years running, no. HR troll caught!

I'm calling BS. Honeywell isn't giving big raises. Good luck for next year and don't spent your "wished for" raise now because you're probably not getting one.

@2kit+1jHaeqgr Don't forget the fat tax, smoker tax, and never-ending out-of-pocket expenses before the self-insured (yes they are !) company kicks in 1 red cent!

Don’t worry, between periodic furloughs and pay cuts Honeywell will get there money back

Be advised the BOTS are all over this post, weeding out any negative feedback about how untrue this post really is.

Congrats.. you now have confirmation you have been underpaid since you started and unpaid sooo badly that even HR had pity and approved a correction.
What ever you are paid you are worth more somewhere else.

I've seen market corrections. I never got one but those that did get one (Not many) were really on the low end and were actually very good workers.

I'm guessing not all business units would do that.

In my experience as a manager, your 9 block rating has likely been submitted (at least preliminary). HR saw you are ranked high and are making an adjustment to bring you up to market. I have only seen this done for upper L people. Enjoy it and don’t worry. The only downside is that it likely includes your next merit increase.

On one hand you are fortunate, it is very rare here. On the other hand not so fortunate, you are at Honeywell. For many of us the combination of annual furloughs, no raise or at best 2-3% and reduced MIPS mean our salaries have in real terms declined year on year.
There is also the continual stress that you can be a RIF victim at any given moment regardless of your performance and the work environment is in freefall. The decline of Honeywell infrastructure has been staggering, compare us now to 6 years ago!! Look to your future, look beyond Honeywell!

Pay raise definitely DOES not translate to job security at HON. I got a huge stock award last year and within 6 months was asked to look for another job internally or accept a package. Found a position within another SBG and now I am finding out, there is a restructuring plan ongoing at both HBT and SPS
