New title changes with 60 day resignation notice?

Has anyone been told lately that if they are a certain job grade or SVP, they will now be called Director and with that must give 60 days notice when resigning. I was told this by my manger and said she thought it was effective immediately but I have not see any change in the HR system. Looking to leave soon so would like to prepare future employer for this.

THEY don’t get to tell YOU how long you are willing to stick around after you’ve received a better job offer. 2 weeks is plenty and 30 days if you’re really that important…and you probably aren’t.

Director is same as SVP. I would think as long as things have not been changed in the HR system it is not yet in place. And if another company wants you, I don’t see why they would have a problem waiting 60 days.

Hate to tell you, but that is standard at a lot of firms, but usually there is a back alley agreement to get around like on most things in the C-suite.

HA, HA. The C-suite is now trapping talent cuz they know things are bad.

Is Director equivalent to SVP? Or would it be considered a demotion?

Can't be enforced in California and probably some other states.

Thank you. I did not receive RSR last year but I believe I will this year. So I am wondering if it is not effective yet.

It’s true, CIB Dir. here (with Dir. corporate title; used to be SVP). This occurred earlier in the year with the RSR acceptance. When you accepted your last award, there was fine print that said you must do 60 days notice (working or not working, up to your manager) otherwise last award could be clawed back and they could go after previous awards. I think a lot of this is unlikely if you retire or go to a non-financial services company.
