I heard some of the US System Admins are being laid off as well. Has anyone heard this as of yet??

There will be a day in the near future where AT&T gets out of the datacenter environment ownership business and go 100% cloud base 3rd party control. To be honest they sux at it in comparison to the big players like AWS, Microsoft and Google to name a few.
System Admins are basically server support for various UNIX and Windows based boxes. Since everything is becoming cloud based and local servers no longer exist on local company prem, the need for these administrators has been reduced dramatically. In my location, all local servers that were on prem have been shutdown, not sure what happened to the system admins associated with these devices.
These cats (SA's) have been living on borrowed time. There are not a lot of SA's left at T. Most were rebadged. I'm sure Santone would like to eliminate all employees holding the SA title.

System Administrators called SA's
Leadership has spoken and clearly said a surplus is happening 1Q2023. With the way it has been advertised since late Sept be prepared, and do not be surprised for small numbers to be let go from through the target date. The company currently has about 163k employees. In our Town hall earlier this week the range of cuts for our org works out to be in the 6% range.
Mostly outsourced and it’s as all cloud anyway.
