VP in UOP leaving for another opportunity outside of Honeywell--wonder if that means anything; UOP president has to do her job while a replacement is found

When Dave Cote visited UOP Des Plaines shortly after the purchase he said… “We love UOP, we won’t change a thing”. When asked about layoffs, he said “we don’t have any layoffs planned at this time”. Treasury Department was laid off 2 weeks later…. Will there be layoffs at UOP…. Yes, and in every area of Honeywell.

Let’s see… the world has fifty years of oil at current consumption. Should I start a career in oil? I wonder

Layoffs at Honeywell are only to rein in costs so that the executive class can show that earnings are going up in the next quarter and they can book their earnings and bonuses this quarter. Total BS of course. But they get their book and you don't.

@ift - we went to the open office format and it was, in my opinion, 100 times more distracting. You not only have the immediate competition of your neighbors (who are just doing their job) but now you have the entire neighborhood to contend with.

@rah+1j5FGeUA Well not sure whats UP UOP but they been hiring for operations, shops and yeah some them are so so they are hiring understand diverse stuff but we need people that can we can understand and will do the JOB. But my gut feeling they want pay less and get rid of the ones bit higher pay with experience and guess age, years of service too? Also no more family friendly place to work at too TY Honeywell.

speaking of new office and room...I can't concentrate when there is a lot of noise in the background...will be expecting my own work productivity to drop significantly if we're transitioning to a cubicle/or no walls open space format.

Someone , please let the cat out of the bag already...sheesh. UOP has multiple rats in HR jumping overboard and with a headquarters move looming, there's got to be some forced retirements and or loss in headcounts. Besides, everyone knows not all people will move to new place, since there is only so much room.
