It can turn good employees into bad employees within a year of working here. As soon as people realize that no amount of good work will net them anything positive, they stop caring and start doing less than the bare minimum. And I support them 100% in that. AT&T doesn't deserve better.

When you're a well respected craft employee, move to management, get promoted and try to make a difference training managers and employees. Then your Director says in your one on one "just go do what you do"!
Then yes, you agree AT&T has special skills!

Has att ever quit paying people the wages on their original offer +raises and bonuses? What else should you get for the job they are paying you to do? I understand being disappointed in some of the benefit cuts. But it's not honorable at all to not give a decent effort for the work you are paid to do.
People complain about how bad executive leadership is. Some of the employees way down on the pay scale are every bit as bad.
ATT used to be a wonderful place to work! I would always brag to friends that I wished they had a job like mine or worked for T because they would really like it! Now, I have seen the decline of this once iconic company ever since SBC took over the reins and screwed up T to the point where I dread the job! Primarily because the stock performance is tanking day after day, I've lost my incentive to help this company succeed!
Why bother anymore is my attitude because if executive managers can phuck up the company the way they did and be rewarded for it over and over again, then why should I even bother to work hard anymore!
If you get past all the bs at town halls, I would ask anyone to explain to me how have things at T improved. I guess if you started in the last five years you may see improvement, but mist folks who have been around for awhile see the decline of a once great place to work. I remember when I started there was teamwork, people going way over the top to serve customers, relationships with frontline employees and upper mgmt help employees and the customer. There was even a time when upper mgmt, lower level mgmt and union employees played softball together and had a few beers while playing. Never again will we see those days and never again will we see T be the great company it once was.
