Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The worst leadership

AT&T's leadership is so bad that the board could fire every single one of them, not hire anybody to replace them, and the company would still start functioning better than it has in years. There would be no useless acquisitions and no unnecessary reorganizations every five minutes, among many other things. Tell me, what would be missed if they were gone?

WoW! You are dead wrong! Nothing happens in this company without Stanley's stamp of approval, nothing. Just ask any EVP that tried and failed. Stankey runs this company with an iron fist, ain't nothing going to change that. Stankey and Stephenson are the worst CEO's at any company in history.

It’s so sad! When Whitaker was last here leading the company it was still a good company with great benefits and work sites that were very very nice. San Ramon and the Hoffman estates campuses were great. Then came Randy the accountant. Zero idea on what to do. Acquisitions were mostly negative and very costly. Sadly the company the company decline started in full crash mode. Many middle management personnel were moved to cushy leadership jobs they could not lead. I am not a Stanley fan but he was much more driven than so many others. We are today in a company led by Avp’s, VP’s, executive VP’s, and all to many presidents that know zero about the functional areas they leads. It’s sad and I do not see a cleaning of the leadership coming. Start with a few like Sommers, Arnoldi, Chewning and Lu. This is just crazy!

Remember, none of these failed merger acquisitions (T-Mobile, DTV, Warner Media, etc.) could have been done without approval from the BOD. They are supposed to be the guardrails for AT&T leadership. Utter failure on both their parts. Sadly, many of the same BOD members are still in their positions. Elliot Management has added a few new seats but at this point it may be too little too late.

Stock price has dropped to $17.19. Next into the $16 range . WBD ended today at $13.06 and dipped as low as $13.00. Article today on WBD had to take out the trash and dispose of the less valuable assets bought from AT&T. With the economy headed for a recession more pressure on profit is coming

Wouldn't we miss the great videos made by leadership. How would I life without such great entertainment. Outside of that, we would function well as a company. At a VP level and higher in ATT, the jobs are cushy. Dinners, golf, suites at sporting events, expense account, car allowance, great pension, stock options and let's not forget parties.

Did somebody say bonus? T leadership will do anything for a bonus. Wonder what is next on their agenda?

But who would use the corporate jets to get their head polished?

Oh, that right, Whitacre and the Ratty have lifetime use of them for free...
