Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT does not have answers on how to grow

If they can’t chop heads fast enough the dividend cut is the next step. You can’t rebound from 3 massive strategic blunders in 12 years. And that’s the bottom line.

“The way forward is a comprehensive fiber optic network to phase out the existing copper network. Unfortunately it’s also an expensive way forward.”

Yes that was the thought. We’re just not pulling in subscribers as much as they thought. Comcast and other cable providers still dominate. There’s countless new neighborhoods we’re in with fiber and most still have cable. And 5g in home internet will continue to grow. I have Verizon 5g in home and get up to 400 down and 40 up. And was seamless to install, plug and play, works effortlessly.

Wireline is old hat. Unlimited data can suit most needs when it comes down to it.

The way forward is a comprehensive fiber optic network

More and more use cases are going mobile-only.
ARPU and margins are trending down.
95% of the market just wants what's cheapest and gets the job done.

Wireless is not going to be fine. Our three year outlook is projected to be flat, just like VZ. T-Mobile is expected to have a 4 x increase in revenue.
If anyone thinks wireless is ki----g it then maybe you drink a lot of kool-aid.
T-Mobile is expected to put $60billiin into buying back shares. The impact of that will be 1/3 of tmobiles outstanding shares will be available to investors to purchase. The other 2/3’s will not be. What will happen to their Stick price and earning….it’ll go through the roof.
People inside this company need to wake up. You work for a loser!! Dead last is losing. Lowest revenue is losing. Most debt is losing. Lowest stock price is losing.
All of our jobs are on the block. Some of us just realize and others still live in La-la land.

Some people need to pull there head out of their ar-e and see the revenue AT&T pulls in to more than cover there dividend. And they will be a better company once they cut more fat and reduce expenses.

Mobility is the only thing saving T after the TW and DTV disasters!! Mobility is essentially subsidizing the rest of the company.

Wireline cannot end. Have you not been listening. Shareholders want an increase in wireline ebidta. With the decrease in copper services, we will need to sell more fiber products to meet the “want”.
Wireless is going automated, it’s the easiest place to make that happen.
We can offshore the support and the company wins.

Mobility has a shot only if T downsizes headcount, sheds low margin units and invests in infrastructure. Otherwise any profit for mobility will be sucked into wireline, professional services, security etc., all loss leaders.

Mobility margins are shrinking faster than customer acquisition can keep pace. Current business model cannot support employee count, benefit costs and infrastructure investment required to keep up with technology and competition. These indicators tell the future story of T as we know it…..

Mobility will be just fine with increased growth and revenue. End of the road for wireline, it’s has been a good run.

Keep on whining about DirecTV and Warner Bros. and do nothing while the rest of us move on and get paid.
