Has anyone noticed how little people are working? Taking 4 hours+ off and not scheduling time off? It’s out of control.

This has been going on for a long time. The number of bankers in rural areas who had side jobs (farming, rental houses, etc) outnumbered the ones who did not.
A classic example happened about 15 years ago. A farmer came into the bank wanting to talk to their account officer and the admin said he was out that afternoon making customer calls. The farmer went ballistic and said "Bull@@@! I just saw him mowing somebodys lawn (apparently the banker had a lawn mowing side hustle). You tell him to get is a@@ in here NOW!"

I know a guy who works 3 remote jobs at once. they want to break this culture.
Most people working remote have other jobs. I know so many who are here at Wells. The thing is, they do the bare minimum to get by here. They should mandate RTO sooner rather than later for all employees (5 days a week) like GMS!
Love that I do and my team is great. No openings right now though, sorry. Also, FRTO. Literally the only thing wrong here from my perspective.

@mga+1itESXVz This has been happening in marketing for years now. WFH just made it easier to hide. Not that people bothered. I’ve actually had managers tell me to talk to them later because they were busy with freelance or personal projects. No shame at all.
Definitely see this at manager level. Just watch their skype status go to mobile for hours each day or listen to background noise when they dial into calls.
The fake accounts scandal ruined it for the rest of us. I remember the good old days when management was engaged in sales and other competitive team practices. Seems people just wait to be told what to do, now. And if they’re not told anything to do, then they’re categorized as being quietly fired… with the exception of the mortgage team.
Work ethic existed even without good leadership, but that seems to have changed.

This is why they don't like remote work. I would run into Tom's of IT employees that were remote that barely did anything. I think most were working a side gig while on the clock with WFC

It’s a corporate gesture. Uber is doing it to their longtime drivers.WF is doing it to their legacy WF team members. It’s much easier to deceive a new team member than a veteran team member who’s been around for decades. Hence, quiet firing.Sometimes management is quiet firing and the team member is quietly quitting. Both know it.

I see this in salaried management 4/5/6 levels down quite a bit. I do not see it in base employees at all.
Oh yeah! It’s been going on since before the pandemic. I recall having one supervisor scheduled one on one meetings once a month. Sometimes they just skipped a month. The past 5–6 supervisors have been some of the most lethargic individuals I’ve ever worked with. Do you think quiet quitting is happening. Quiet Firing is happening, as well. As long as you complete your mandatory KODs, then enjoy working remotely wherever you are in the world. Just be sure to use Montana as your home state so you can keep rolling over your PTO every year.
Yeah millennials and Gen Z may be the downfall of our country unfortunately.
