Even though I no longer live or work at my childhood home, I often check back on the old neighborhood via Zillow, local news feeds etc. I still have lots of fond memories and people I care about in the childhood neighborhood even though it is highly unlikely I will ever move back. The same applies to retirees and former employees checking in on this site to see how things are progressing at T. Even though we say we are happier where we are now, we still care. It also serves as a reminder how blessed we are when we compare how it was for ourselves vs for current T employees
Anyone who has ben around for at least 20 years can surely see that ATT wants a transient workforce so nobody will have any valuable benefits so all of you chasing the dollar they are offering better be saving half of it because that's what the benefits were about. quick cash equals quick out just what the company wants. Great news! you can always believe the Government will take care of you.
If life is so good after AT&T why do you enjoy coming back for company conversations? Sounds like you miss AT&T LOL
I haven't felt any stress since I left T. While there, 34 years, I was always stressed out.

@ama+1ipGiXNp - what are the drastic changes to benefits that you are referring to? If it is the health care coverage items they took away the last two years to entice people to leave - the reality is that impacted a small portion of the employee’s. Many with that coverage had already left the company and so many more are / were not even eligible for that coverage. For example anyone that joined ATT by way of Cingular who were not already a BellSouth Mobility employee (or union worker) get no healthcare coverage when they retire

When you spend more than half of your life with a company, it's always curious to see how the company is doing and how the employees feel about it! Apparently, it seems as though T is making drastic changes to the benefits package which is causing much dissension among the employees. If you're not happy, there are many other small to midsize employers offering much better benefits than T. Time to move on!
