Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I don't see any leadership as of late, nothing

I think The Street has written off ATT and I think leadership has mailed it in. ATT Collab Zones will be Lord of The Flies Centers. You are all on your own.

Stankey is "hunkered down". He's got to orchestrate a massive "headcount rationalization", or re-position employees from the payroll to the street. This will make him even more unpopular amoungst T employees. You know....the few that continue to support his reckless agenda. If and when Stankey ever retires, he will need to move to a remote island to live out his life, no one could ever stand to be around him.

A 20% management cut is necessary and is reasonable if you get rid of the redundant overhead and inefficiencies!!

More money needs to be put into customer facing customer service. Strategy and planning needs to be drastically reduced. Neither has provided any useful insight or added any value!!!

"The leadership", as that term is used at T, is a euphemism.

They are the fat cats who pronounce upon those below them. There is no "leading" involved.

AT&T lost its way a long time ago. After years of poor leadership, and no vision, we are now paying the price for those decisions. T is in a ho-e that won’t be easy to get out of in the near term.
I suspect we will see massive layoffs and poor working conditions for those that remain. And while we are trying to right the ship our competitors will continue to move ahead.

It's the calm before the storm. VP and above have been in reorg meetings to determine headcount impacts based on the approve business cases that have been submitted. Prep work underway for Sept notifications. AT&T must pull the free up cash lever quickly to improve their financial position.

I’ve been here 30 yrs. and the company spends billions on consultants for guidance that has resulted in Billions of lost shareholder value and ill advised mergers. Stankey was Randall’s co pilot as the company was flown in into a mountain. To survive the management FAT has to be cut!! There are thousands of managers that have no 21st century skills and need to be let go. Stankey and the BOD should be replaced. There is no way the company is going to make a meaningful dent in the $136 Billion in debt!!! There is no multi billion cash infusion on the horizon unless something is sold off.

Street has definitely given up on AT&T. The stock is down an amazing 22%. While market is down roughly 12%. This company reacts now. When Apple and Google started to slow hiring and let some people go, AT&T did the same. When Apple and Google force people back in office, AT&T will do the same. When Apple and Google do plenty of hiring, AT&T makes some noise about replacing contractors with employees.

This company needs to let go of 10-20% of current workforce for expense to meet current revenue. The cold cold long winter is coming.

AT&T is no longer an industry leader and hasn't been for the better part of a decade.
