Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Anyone who is miserable at CVX

Go read the Ford layoff board. Mass surprise layoffs all day long today. Boss pings you on Teams and you’re out the door for good 15 minutes later.

They do the same thing at chevron! I worked there for 15 years and it was a re-org every 2 years and I saw people get the call and pack up their things minutes later. That’s the reason I left. Nobody wants to worry about their job like that! And you’ve got RH writing articles about turnover and how it’s “not so bad”. I swear she is the absolute worst.

'Yes, as one poster put it. if you are unhappy at cushy Chevron, you would be quite the miserable worker anywhere else. I dare anyone whining here to try. Quit talking about it and go where you think the grass is greener. What's stopping you?

Chevron would benefit from a PIP program. We could actually get some work done instead of dealing with bureaucracy and getting recycled by DRBs for no reason.

Ford is laying off white collar workers, not union guys. Do your homework before accusing others of trolling, you troll.

To feel better about Chevron, go scan the ExxonMobil Layoff Board; read all about the joys of PIP as a means of reducing head count.

Ford workers are hourly union factory workers. They have almost nothing in common with Chevron workers. Keep trolling.

CVX is not much different when they finally lay you off. You get a meeting invite and then you are gone. Only difference is they keep you on edge for months, keeping your hopes alive. They do give you a very generous severance package which does separate them from most companies.

Its something I think our management dreams about doing since they seem so layoff obsessed.

It's called "Worker sharing program". Rm made it very clear that this is a healthy exercise and to let employees get different experiences that they might not have had at Chevron.
