The Need for Personnel Department in Club to return

Daily there always seem to be in issue that arises in Club with associates. Management and Leads are responsible for assisting associates with any issues with personnel they may be experiencing. Too often critical errors are done and reversing these errors become nightmares such as "terminating" incorrect associate to processing new hires questionably leaving these poor kids confused. We need someone who knows answers to all personnel issues, communicate to associates of current policies or assist when open enrollment season comes around. Associates personal information should be confidential but with all Leads and Management involved and have access this becomes concerning. I understand payroll budget is a concern, however your personal identity is most important and should be protected.

Your absolutely correct, HR is very important! Things have gone to he-l in a handbasket without HR.

Workday is only the software the company is using. It’s not a company that’s doing our HR.

But they really could use someone on the club level to help with HR. Management and 99% of the leads seem to be clueless.

I am not a fan of Workday or Sedgwick for that matter. Utilizing third party companies is a bad move. We need a PTC person who can assist associates with questions they have. It is clear to me that management does not have a clue how to assist associates. I have heard that when one needs to call Sedgwick, they are on hold waiting for a representative for hours. Ridiculous and inefficient.

Technically there are still HR/Personnel. Workday absorbed the People's Solution call center along with Ethics and Benefits call centers and combined all under Workday.

Bottom line the PTC position is not coming back. Walmart Inc is looking to make all Sam's Clubs automated.

You are fooling yourself if you think that job is ever coming back. It won't happen.

Agreed. Getting rid of Personnel was a seriously bad move. Other company’s have gone to utilizing workday, but they have kept their HR/Personnel employees because they know how crucial these folks are to their company.
