So that they can cut massive amounts of heads in order to address cash flow issues. It is only going to get worse with layoffs and the environment becoming far more toxic.

amazing how delusional att employees are and think they have a good job just because of the money.
so many better places to be that treat you like a human and pay more.
hey but stick around for the severance while you deteriorate.
Not us.
We were told Monday it doesn’t matter where we work from as long as we get our work done.
"Why? So those who do not want to return can be sent packing now rather than later."
To finally end the madness and get employees back to work!
VP just said in a Town Hall that he is looking for people to return now rather than later. Why? So those who do not want to return can be sent packing now rather than later.
They want to get people to leave on their own. No severance, no unemployment. Managements dream.
If this company can't manage a consistent telecommuting policy, what can they manage?
Employees don't need to be in the office to be fired. What a stupid post.
Nearly everyone will return to work. Yes once a week or less they will.
"Does this include experts like me...?"
You betcha!
It seems as this company has just two visions of the future - to send all to the offices and then to lay them off. No one option will improve its business, but who cares?
Software Company?
att still cannot manage the wfh policy
good job!
Does this include experts like me that are classified as full time telecommuters? I will not return to any office, I'll look elsewhere for employment. That will show them!
It sounds like things are going to ugly fast.
they are selling buildings off now.
In many areas, there is a commercial real estate glut, so if they're selling these buildings, they'll get 50¢ on the dollar.
The time to go to WFH and dump real estate was 2019. Instead, back in 2019, they did the opposite.
Cost more money than 2 months pay to lay you off. Short sighted financial plans is all that’s been saving us
It is more cost effective for employees to work from home. In addition, they are selling buildings off now.
Millennials “quiet quitting” will be the only reason why we’re forced back to the office. Its always one group ruining everything for everyone.
Going back to the office will not save you from the chopping block. Stop that madness.
Fixed Wireless along with customer installs will help justify next round of layoffs within wireline. Along with securing maintenance agreements with suppliers and wireless OEM's. The only troubleshooting required on the AT&T side will be who to issue the PO to.
"They don’t need people to come back to the office in order to lay them off."
They are trying to get people to retire/quit. With some of the contractual language they can't just dump some groups.
They don’t need people to come back to the office in order to lay them off. They are just doing that as an additional kick in the groin to everyone for their own personal amusement.
Heads will be on the chopping block after Labor Day. We are going from 160 products to less than 10. Writing is in the wall people.
We are a fiber, wireless and software company moving forward. Wireline is not coming back but let’s keep talking about it
ATT has no viable strategy. It's either gamble with a horrible coaching staff that borrows, buys, alienates the new team that made them so attractive leading to poor performance of acquired assets, then fire sale dump. Or chop heads.
