Lots of coffee and donuts, served through 10CT. Everyone gathered around the conference table at 10CT. Randall won the mountain bike, for finding the most change in the couch cushion contest. Meeting went on for the next few hours. Biggest issue discussed, telecommuting. At 12CT, a drawing for the 75" tv was held, MacElfresh won the tv. Lunch was served 1215-1315. Meeting was restarted at 1315CT. Discussed best way to reduce employee numbers. Attrition, incentive offer, layoff, rebadging. No decision reached. Next item on agenda, start visitor tours daily at Whitacre Tower, estimated revenue $2B annually. Meeting ended at 1500CT.

Thank God our technicians are protected from layoff by their union contract. Not much Santone and Stankey can do. They could pony up an offer, 3, 3, and 1, but they wont.

Layoffs?
Or buy outs and please leave by Sep 30?
There are 3 or 4 personnel in my crew that would go.
Multiply that across the company

I wonder if technicians will be in for a rude awakening with unforeseen layoffs in areas of the country that you would have never guessed would be hit? Management keeps telling us we're continuing to get busier and will need to hire more technicians once the hiring freeze is over, but what if none of that matters? What if ATT has the ultimate goal of reducing head count in order to reduce payroll so that overall operating and employee expenses can be reduced? You never know what they're thinking or planning!

Sounds about right, let's penalize the customer. Fiber build out on hold, it takes 6 fiber complaints in a given area to roll a truck. No OT on copper plant. No new connections to copper plant. What about all the technicians that were hired for fiber build out? I wonder if management will continue to tell employees to be patient, work will come soon.

In NC was just informed: no new connections of existing copper plant, uverse single or bonded to include N order or transfers, fiber build out plan for 2022 to cease until further notice. No copper dispatches on OT, fiber troubles must equate to at least 5 troubles in particular area or zone before a truck roll,

There’s probably many reasons that employees wouldn’t know the address of the HQ building. The large majority of employees don’t work in Texas and have never worked for Southwestern Bell, so they probably wouldn’t be that familiar with AT&T buildings in Texas. Just like most from SBC wouldn’t know where the locations of the HQ buildings for BellSouth, Ameritech, Pac Bell, Legacy T, Directv, Warner Media, etc. are/were. All of our W-2’s still show the original payroll companies along with our benefits, so it’s not like we ever see the address for our HQ anywhere, unless you specifically go out of your way and look up the CEO in webphone. Besides, most of us are concerned with our reporting location and any other local buildings we might have to use and have no need or desire to know what street in Dallas that our HQ is on.

I found $1.27 in the green couch cushions on 21st floor. Not sure if this will win me the mountain bike, but I'm hopeful.

Maybe they are trying to determine if they are going to sublease the 36th & 37th floors. It would take the entire c-suite to make that decision.
It’s not like we are dealing with people who are very good at
