Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Everyone should have a preplanned PIP response

Management and HR purposely blindsides you so your not prepared. It can happen to anyone at anytime.

That doesn't mean fight it or make a scene. It just means think about how you would respond if you are unexpectedly called into your managers office and told you are underperforming and no one likes working with you.

What would you say? Getting hostile does you no good in fact they may be counting on it.

Also, what will you say when they give you a set of impossible goals the CEO couldn't even achieve.

That's how it works. At least have a plan.

The only plan is to expect it, don't be surprised. There is NOTHING you can do to fight it, so just roll with it or find a new job.

Absolutely have a plan. The last thing you want to do is storm out in a huff. Even if the company won't tell prospective employers, you work in a relatively small community. Word gets around. Plan the work, work the plan.

I decided to factually dispute it which infuriated them further and accelerated my departure with cash in my wallet.

My PIP response will be, OK, what else you got? Are we done here?

@jsv Yep zero downside and a ton of upside. You'll get your resume / CV up to date. You'll make contacts. You'll get more comfortable interviewing. The list goes on...

Or just start interviewing now. There is exactly zero downside.

What you can do is do a 360 review on hr direct. That was you can give a proof, if people like you or not.
