Good thing the bargained for lifers are not at risk! I know many technicians with more than 30 years with T and they're in no way at risk of layoff!
HR has already stated that all laid off employees will be branded with the do not rehire scarlet letter. No surprise they no longer want long term employees, give em five years and move on.
It's about time heads start to roll.
A great example of Stankey and Santone getting even with T employees. They will continue to cull the herd until they release at least 40K employees. If you have a target on your back, find another job before the job market dries up. Please try to understand Stankey and Santone are not your friends. They will wreck your life, your family, and jeopardize your financial way of life completely.
Those folks that are being released are marked ineligible for rehire. T is seriously having to reduce spend and they a pulling the get quick cash lever with these EOY and early 1Q2023 layoffs.
Suggestion; Check with HR to see if you will be marked re-hireable. Otherwise you are wasting your time, had a co-worker (good employee) who kept applying to find out he was marked on exit not to be rehired.
Next word for craft will be in December, but I suspect management layoffs will continue weekly.
This is terrible! Leadership doesn’t even sent you email thanking you for your 20+ year of service. Two week notice, no person to talk to until next weeks scheduled zoom mtg with 3rd party resources.. info calls. Last day is Oct 6. Not enough time to apply for internal jobs..

A couple tidbits of information regarding UI (Unemployment Insurance) in CA and TX.
California allows you to receive severance pay and collect UI simultaneously and you can file a claim your last day on payroll.
Texas does not allow you to collect UI and severance pay simultaneously. You have to wait for the severance period to end. If you receive 6 months of severance you can file for UI after 6 months off the payroll.
Please check with your state's employment development office for details.
Severance is paid within 45 days from when you sign General Release & Waiver.
