Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Return to office

Return to office will be announced within the next two months. At first you will be asked to return one day per week. End goal is to have you in the office three days a weeks minimum. Layoffs might be slowing down but the push to get employees to resign is just getting started. Comment if you’ve heard anything remotely similar.

MSP is remote because of the massive level of crime downtown!

This may be true in some markets but not the Twin Cities. I have been on calls where it has been stated that Twin Cities employees are largely remote.

Return to office is to stroke the egos of the many useless people in management. Hard to kiss the ring remotely, in their eyes. Zoom meetings don't cut it for the useless.

Are they taking away the remote roles or are they making hybrid workers actually return to the office like required X days a week?

Why on earth would anyone need to be in the office 5 days a week if their jobs can be done effectively from home?? I think 3 days every week is even too much for some of us to sit in traffic and spend all day an outdated, rundown building now that we’ve realized it’s unnecessary for our role. Sorry old schoolers, that is complete a waste of LIFE. Times have changed!

My group was told we are working from home in the fall and winter months as of Oct.

I'm in a commercial group and while I haven't heard anything official we have been lately encouraged to come back hybrid if willing. But nothing official and some have totally ignored it. I go in twice a week but on the days I go in I I'm treating it more like a half day.

My buddy on the same floor, his direct manager did say that his own manager told them the expects him to be in on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a regular basis and he has no problem with it but he said unless something official comes down he's not expecting his reports to do the same.

Everything seems very vague and unofficial right now.

The pandemic is over! Time to go back into the office. My vote is 5 days per week.

Most of you, when you accepted the position, we’re in an office 5 days a week. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect to 3 days a week. You wanna work full time at home, go look for something else. It would take USB years to recover the real estate if 70% of the work force was home.

I haven’t heard anything like that in my area. Is this supposed to be a bank-wide announcement??

I have noticed that automated processes are being phased out for manual processes. You can also tell people are more on edge as well with patience at a minimum.

I know of several looking elsewhere.
