What fool decided to push T to implement open office. Bowling or Donavan? Trying to be like google and wasting millions. They also thought it would allow them to lay people off who would never be missed. No suddenly empty cube. Now they don’t want to spend money to fix the problem.

open office was and is a joke.
lets create as many distractions as possible
Yeah, sure the open office concept works real well as all of us get on conference or zoom calls & talk over each other. A while back I was on a zoom call and the other end asked a co-worker a few spaces over to use a kleenex instead of his finger. The open concept does drive office s-x into the janitor closet or the mens restroom. Had to tell 1 Don Juan to tie a "SOCK" on the restroom door pull while he and Janet were scr eewing .

My work location went to open space a few years before Covid. No one miss those old drab cubicles, updated furnishing are better and not a waste of money. The collaboration benefits are way over sold, fundamentally, the way we work never changed. Many project teams are geo diverse, the only way to work together is over web meetings.
Most of the time people work individually, or on web meetings. The hallway conversations will move into a meeting room, you get dirty looks from others on the floor when their work or calls are interrupted. Having an open space doesn't alter any of these, made the situation worst.
Open or close space, as long it is in my house. Do jot need go to company office, have my own.
These are the type of people AT&T needs to get rid of. Just complain any time there is any change.
Get jobs outside. Then you won't have to worry.
Of course it's easier to bi---h and moan than get a bit cold or wet.
You office people are weak sauce.
T just needs to layoff thousands to send a message of who is in charge. And then hire people that really want a job.
I truly believe wfh is the new open space concept. Companies who accept this concept will be better off in the long run.
I’ve personally wfh since 2007. For me it’s never been easy , it’s more of a necessity because if the amount of hours I work. If T embraces the idea, many will find themselves in the same situation. T will cut people and you will doing the work of two people. This will be the trade off and you will no longer be doing laundry, grilling for lunch, surfing Amazon, going out to lunch at your favorite local spot, etc. Then you will realize wfh isn’t as enjoyable and easy as being at the office.
I’m my opinion T thought ole space would make young employees want to work here because the look would be similar to the FAANG companies. The difference is we aren’t cutting edge technology and our upper mgmt still want their offices. Love him or not, Mark Zuckerberg works out in the open like all other employees. That does say something about him as a leader.
Open office? Every T building I’ve ever been in looks like a dingy old basement that that hasn’t been updated since the 70’s.
You get this kind of post when T employs too many workers. Time to get rid of a lot of people T. We need more people that are there to perform their jobs. Too many people take their jobs for granted.
I mean, has this post been sitting waiting to get approved since 2017 or what?
